N52 power level is what E46 330Ci deserved. They left such an immense gap between it and M3. It would've been one of the greatest blue collar sports coupes of all time.

I’ve been in the market for an n52 e90 for over a year now and watching hundreds of videos in researching this car ..This IS the video I’ve been waiting for. now I know how to build a reliable daily driven fun e90. at 46yrs old, I’m not chasing crazy power or looks. A nice clean fun daily that I can throw around when need or want to. Thank you for the breakdown.

I bought mine at age 35, and was just looking for something I could haul my kids around in that wasn't a complete snooze to drive. After 3 years and almost 50k miles with the car, I'd say that it achieves this goal very well. Handles great with summer tires, M3 arms, and alignment. The midrange torque the N52 produces makes the commute much more fun too.

Would love to compare some notes. Building one for cannonball purposes. 06’ 530XI Wagon so far, 20gallon fuel cell in the back, 3d printed grill to divert air to stock air box. Dealing with heat issues at speed. Most of my build so far has been cockpit and getting the car mechanically sound. Got it for free with a broken CV and some other issues. Now that those are fixed I’m onto get it to hum along at 100+mph for 800 miles at a time. Goal is highest speeds while attaining best fuel mileage. I’ve torn out all rear interior to make up for the fuel cell. Working on aero now after scanning the car to reduce drag. Need reliability and comfort for endurance driving. Would love to pic your brain.

Yes I installed milvs years ago. I did not dyno them but noticed an improvement paired with milvs related changes in the tune.

You don't track the car with Conti DWS do you? Its such a soft sidewall squishy tire. Some nice tips on good parts in this vid! Does the Turner intake increase the amount of induction sound you can hear from the driver's seat?
@RaimundN52Ай бұрын
I use the Conti DWS on the street, and Falken RT615k+ for track/summer. Yes the Turner intake is much louder than the stock airbox. Thanks for watching!

You seem to be missing a Bolt on the front of the rocker cover, is this deliberate.
@RaimundN5213 күн бұрын
The last owner of the engine stripped the threads on that one, I just haven't messed with it as it hasn't leaked
@picdar1613 күн бұрын
@@RaimundN52 it’s easily done but not with aluminium bolts assuming yours has a magnesium block. That’s a pretty impressive feat if it is mag as the bolts will snap long before they pull threads

If I said 3.73 I meant to say 3.91. it made a big difference in acceleration and also the rpms are higher on the highway. I don't pay much attention to mpg though

are the wheel spacers necessary ?

In the front yes in case of tire flex on hard driving to prevent any possible contact with the strut. In the rear no not at all

Are brake clips unnecessary? Is the reason you don’t run them?
@RaimundN522 ай бұрын
Good question, I forgot to mention in the video that I have Bimmerworld brass caliper bushings. They instruct to remove the caliper clips as they can cause binding paired with the low tolerance caliper bushings.
