Awesome video and I have followed all the steps outlined, including removing the diaphragm seat ring from the old body and replacing it with the ring from the new base that came with the new valve. I hadn't thought of that and hoped it would solve my problem with slow seepage through the new valve bonnet/diaphragm running to the leaking sprinkler head. It didn't and all RainBird tech line told me to do was "replace the whole valve, not just the top". No help at all. Got any ideas on where else water could be getting through the valve to the sprinkler head?

I appreciate your time making this video! Helped with my research. I appreciate the attitude as well! Great work!

you should leave some space between the valve and the ball valve in case you have to replace the entire valve in the future it can be done without having to cut back behind the cutoff. gutting isnt always an option🙂

Just started our system for the year and have two little pee streams from the same place on one of our valves. Thanks for the info. Helps save my family money!

I have the same models of valves in yard. The second zone now tries to turn on for a second or so then it clicks off and turns off the pump. Do you think the solenoid is bad and I can just swap that out? When installing new solenoid I assume it should be in closed position? Thanks!!

Could be the solenoid. I would test it first with a multi meter to see if it is bad before changing it.

Great video. What exact model are you using in the video?

I have a sprinkler head leaking and I thought it might be my PEB valve, but there is no water leaking anywhere in the box or around the valve. I already replaced the sprinkler head and the new one leaks too... a constant stream of water out the top of the rotor... any ideas or thoughts? if you see this and could respond it would be much appreciated... thanks!

It could be that the valve is not shutting off all the way. It could have debris in it. You could turn the valve manually on and off a few times to try and flush it out. Doing this you will also be able to hear if the valve shuts off or not. If it still is leaking by, then the next step is to take it apart and clean it out. It also could be the diaphragm in the valve. The next thing would be to rebuild the valve. Now if the valve is shutting off and the head still leaks, it could be that it is at the end of the line and just draining out the water in the lateral lines. If that’s the case, a head with a check valve in it will work. But I would check the valve first.

I would never attempt but would like to share this with members of our HOA when considering why a professional is recommended.

Yes. Share it. I hope it helps.

All my pressure regulators are leaking from the hole on the side of the pipe near the flow arrow. What causes that?
@AmericanIrrigator3 жыл бұрын
That is a good question. I’m not real sure to be honest with you. I’ll ask around.

Pretty obvious information, trouble is that new valve you're using is $140 from RainBird, whereas the diaphragm and top are just $47. So the smart owner uses that maintenance kit. The only part of your video that I needed is where you deftly remove the solenoid without explaining how its done, Thanks a lot!

Disconnect the wires and unscrew it until it comes off. Then try replacing the old O ring gasket.

It's a solenoid NOT a selenoid.
@juliofranco419310 ай бұрын
The solenoid has an adapter to fit into the valve, he never checked that. It could have been the gasket in the adapter. You need more experience brother 🤷🏽♂️
