I have used both and R-VAN wins hands down for me. IM not a professional just a homeowner but the R-vans are awesome to me.

Same for me. I go by my water bill and Rain Bird was the most efficient for me.

Nice doing the water flow gpm and psi analysis of the two brands. Will be a consideration in my system. The MPs are probably better for drought tolerant yards with dry scape plantings ie: native plants.

Rain Bird quality control with the R-VAN heads is abysmal. I have ones that were purchase two years ago that work great. Just ordered a bunch of the same ones directly from Rain Bird and they are ALL defective. I even sent Rain Bird a video with the new R-Van and the same exact original R-Van on the same sprinkler head to show the difference. Going to try the MP Rotator.

I bought a half dozen Rvan 14 rotators and was disappointed. The max spray arc was only 14 inches and not 14 feet like I expected.
@KaliBlaz Жыл бұрын
are all these heads in the same zone? if they are then that's your problem. ideally you should have 3 zones (from what i see in your video), one for every section of your lawn. there is no pressure high enough in residential areas where you can run all these heads at once at the same time. (7 heads / line) is not doable in most cases.

Either your water pressure is way too low, or you need Cut out a few heads, these types of nozzles work at specific PSI.. I use both MP rotator and R-Vans, my side strip and park strip I use the MP rotators, and for the 180° and anything below 360° use rvan. Also, try the Tan and Maroon colored nozzles, I found it better to turn the flow down vs hope for max flow out of a nozzle that’s not made to spray that far.. anyways, in my opinion, both have their pros and cons. Also, Hunter makes a 40psi regulated head, if your pressure is way high on one head and near end of the line minimal, try using the regulated heads, 30psi or 40psi, that will solve your issues. I know I’m late to the party hope this helps anyone else!

i would hate it if i need to jump start them every time, R-VAN ive heard too many mixed results regarding the performance

RVan rotators require more pressure to operate properly. MP rotators work fantastic with L or H pressure.

Seems like your issues are not the heads themselves.

What if you had 2 zones at the front so the R-VANs work well?
@swipemagnetron3 жыл бұрын
The R-VANs would work well if that zone was spit up. I still like the R-VANs and have them on the other zones of my front yard.

@@KriticullCTRL The only area Hunter excels are the rotators. Rain Bird Spray-heads and Rotors are the best. RVANs are garbage because Rain Bird QC is lacking there.
