Both great eras in their own respect. Jonny will always be near and dear to my ear, but I totally get what you’re saying! Matt has that certain voice that just creates them bangers!!!

It’s the Jonny Craig effect: join a band, make bangers, get kicked out, then the new vocalist improves the band even further. See also: Dance Gavin Dance, Emarosa

Normally changing the lead is the death of a band. Johnny craig was sick (no pun intended) but you guys still sound like Slaves and thats saying alot. New but not sooo different all original fans are alienated. This is a compliment- hope i made that clear 😬. Love yall :)

This new dude is the best they could hope for after losing Jonny Craig. First time I've ever heard a band I still like the sound of without him. But he really wasn't feeling this performance (he still sounded awesome) I think lack of a crowd made him less passionate.

Be nice if he could hit the notes that are on the album. Yet to see him do that live. :/ it's no big deal, just always in a different key than the recorded music. Like if you don't actually sound like that, why record like that. Not taking away from his obvious talent. He's a phenomenal singer, he just doesn't ever sound close to the album.
@masonpowers74802 жыл бұрын
because when you tour for 9 months of the year, that type of performance is detrimental to the voice. 9/10 bands play their songs a half step lower live, it's a very common and healthy practice. There's a big difference between what's humanly possible for one day and what's possible to do every single day over and over again. It's the same reason Paramore has only ever performed "All I Wanted" a handful of times for the entire career.
