Charlie Babbitt visits a local mental institution, where he meets his elder brother, Raymond, of whom he was unaware his whole life.

this was one of my mother her favorite movies. We must have watched it numerous times together. When she called me she had difficulty remembering little things and had pain in one of her legs I drove her to the hospital and I put on the Hans Zimmer soundtrack on the way in my car. She immediately recognized it and told me how much she loved that movie. Less than a month later she died. The last thing we said to each other was...hey mom it's me, do you know who I am? and she said...no, I have no idea

Raymond is NOT high-functioning. If he were, he wouldn’t need to live there, and he would be able to eat with a fork and knife. He is mid to low-functioning.

Well correct me if I'm wrong but he was placed in the institution due to his father thinking he hurt Tom Cruise's character

@@dyyuri Good point. If the father hadn't jumped to conclusions, Raymond wouldn't have necessarily had to go to Walbrook.
