This horse was a rescue. He was to become dogfood if I didn't step in. His skin condition was do to using a poor quality shampoo that stripped him of all the natural oils. He is now giving rides to kids and doing rodeo. Thanks for the well wishes.

Where on earth would a rare Spanish mustang become dog food?? Sry I’m a NC native and our wild Spanish mustangs are protected. But when humans interfere then they have to be removed but are never sold to be used as horse meat! Now what private owners do we can’t help. But these horses are so rare and ancient. I go and see them run wild every year! Love them. Thank you for rescuing theses beauties.

@@traciereece9182 we never know the full story as to why... I do trust that folks really do try their best. My buckskin horse, Tonk, his great great grandpa was a banker. I think they got him the early 70s. They are known to be smart trainable horses

I need a barn... they don't even go into trees unless forced

That condition is because they don’t have proper protection from the elements.

They came from no protection Plaines. Ample protection here

They seem fit. Looks like shedding blade time.

January in wyoming.... he needs every hair he can keep. Massage is the only way to invigorate the skin to produce its natural oils

With the change in climate (due more to volcanoes messing up the atmosphere) the south should get hotter and the north warmer. Volcanoes will mess up weather patterns for a minimum 7 years!

Is rain rot from fighting or something else
@PahaPoniesSpanishMustangs2 жыл бұрын
In this case, it is likely the fact that it was so so so dry, and then it rained. But it could be influenced by diet or stress. Also could be using a really harsh soap or really sweating up and not washing off sweat (super salty) my horse bratley got it and it's pretty common, but only in spots. Peanut, here,, lost about 90 percent of his hair...and it was February. I'm not 100 Percent sure it was rain rot. But ...it was most likely

Please explain what rainrot is and how its treated I'm not familiar with it and would like to be educated on it

Google would have a better explanation, but my understanding is it's a fungus, like jock itch caused from just less than ideal conditions-both internal and external. Weather and dry skin for example
