The Rain Song is a musical masterpiece! It speaks volumes of the sheer musical genius of Jimmy Page and the lyrical brilliance of Robert Plant. The orchestral arrangement was originally written by John Paul Jones. LED Zeppelin were and still are the greatest band to ever grace the world with their diverse catalogue of music. They are truly incomparable!

The Rain Song is extremely under-rated. This composition in my opinion is up their with some of the great classical masterpieces. I'd say more beautiful than many depending on personal perspective. The music is so moving and touching the way it flows with grace and speaks so beautifuly. This is beyond rock and roll, this is magical.

George Harrison and the members of Led Zeppelin were friends. Harrison once said to Bonham that the problem with Zep is they don't have enough ballads. Jimmy Page wrote the "Rain Song" and started his beautiful ballad with an introduction -the first two chords of Harrison's classic "Something" as a tribute to the Beatles' lead guitarist. Just listen to this great song and you can hear the truth of this story.

No, he played a wrong chord and started over. He was supposed to go up to the 11th fret but played down around the 9th, and then stopped. He makes another mistake when Robert comes in with the vocal.

Even when Jimmy makes a mistake he just laughs and the crowd is with him 100%. It’s just the atmosphere and rapport that they create with an audience during a concert. They are so loved.

Wow, Robert left Jimmy hanging by not coming in on the first verse, and letting Jimmy play the instrumental part of the song solo without orchestral backup. Robert rubs it in at the end by a sarcastic remark about the mistakes Jimmy makes in the song. Poor Jimmy, he looked nervous during this performance. I'm sure Robert was having great fun on Jimmy's expense. You know that Robert and Jimmy are hooked together by a brotherly love for life. They've been through so much together. Rock immortals!

May be. According to Chris Salewicz, Page may had been off drugs, but he was drinking a great deal, with Plant’s tour mates complaining that his boozing was adversely affecting his performances.

Been listening to plant for 48 years and came to the conclusion that Bonham was right plant can't sing thats why they will never get back together
