Good Monday. I understand the struggle with weight. In February 22, I weighed 392. I weight 212 today. The first year was very hard and lost only 50 lbs. My Dr finally talked me into one of GLP1 drugs. OMG a game changer. I am / was diabetic, RA, High BP, and various other problems.... My A1C has been below 7(6.8) for over a year. I was taking Humalin RU500, 200 units twice a day. No more shots or needles. It is hard but you will get back on track. All will get back to normal soon.

I’m all the way down to 126 now. Also down to 8 units of insulin! But don’t want to lose more. But doctor doesn’t want me to stop Mounjaro because my A1C so good. So now on the lowest dose

I can remember being snowed in for days in NJ. We just enjoyed the time with just the family. We made cookies and played board games by candle light. Our gas stove kept the kitchen warm. It was great! I’m 78 now and still laugh about the panic to grab milk bread and eggs! I loved your story,

Sounds like you had a busy weekend 😁 I live in northern California and we get snow for like a day maybe up to three days about every five years. I won't go out, those people out there don't know how to drive when it rains let along in the snow!! Scary! 🤣😂🤣😂 We always have things like canned chili or refried beans, soup and noodles and rice. We always have ingredients like flour, sugar, and such for making bread if we need it or cup cakes LOL Then we replenish if needed. Your top is very pretty! And the yarn you made is so cool. I am glad you were able to spin some, it seems to calm you I think. Much love to all of you. Go see the chiropractor soon. See you tomorrow!

Good morning Jen, your shirt is absolutely beautiful 😍 and so are the yarns you spun up. I grew up in Texas and I can say that when it snows it does stick around sometimes for a week. I never as an adult went out buying like everyone else. I definitely didn’t get out and drive because people don’t know how to drive on ice or snow in the south. Expect one time when my daughter was 17 working at Olive Garden it snowed and the bridges were ice. I had to go get my daughter because I was afraid to let her drive. At this time I had experience driving because I lived in Indiana for 3 years and learned how to drive on ice and snow. The biggest difference is up north they have the equipment to make the roads somewhat safer. Down south not so much, when I was going over the overpass I started to slide, I seriously thought I was going to go off the bridge onto the highway below. It was scary but obviously I managed to control it. We made it home safely but it took hours when in normal conditions it would take 20-30 mins. That was the one and only time I’ve ever gotten out in the snow. Heck now days I won’t even get out if it’s raining because people don’t know how to drive when the roads are wet. LOL I hope you have a wonderful week…see you tomorrow. Hugs 🤗

Oh WOW your Tee shirt tyrned out great, it is lovely. Jen, you have accomplished more than I have, I haven't picked up a hook since Christmas Day. I just can figure out what it is I want to make, but I'll get there soon. I've been recoverying from surgery since Nov. 15 on top of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, it's been a little hectic. Now I will need to plan what I want to make for the 26 people on my Christmas list for 2025 and get busy on them. 2024 was busy I made 10 hats, a pillow, four sweaters, a doll, a couple of scarves, a shawl, ten blankets, a baby blanket, a baby dress with diaper cover and matching headband and several dish clothes (40) and scrubbies (40). I was busy in 2024. Now to see what 2025 produces♥🧶

I know that fiber gave you trouble, but it's just GORGEOUS, Jen! I grew up in NE Ohio in the snowbelt, so we would get feet of snow when others got inches. Now I live in Georgia and it's CrAzY here. Our biggest problem is ice. I lost all my food when we lost power. It wasn't cold enough outside to put it on the back deck. We just don't have the resources here to tackle that kind of weather. But the drivers are nuts! They think if they have big SUVs, they can drive in anything. They just crash harder and cause more damage! I stay home, it's not worth it. Cu in the next! 😊👍🧶

Good morning. We had the panic where we are, but we did get ice instead of snow. A lot of the area has had power out overnight, and our roads are ice covered. If it was just the snow there would not be as much worry, but with the ice we have had several trees down across the roads and also knocking out power. So here the winter weather is not so nice. Would rather have had the snow.

Good Morning Jen 😊, I love your tee, beautiful colors.. When you were talking about the stink in yarn I was thinking if you could put your fiber in a zip lock bag and put some scent beads and leave it for about a couple of days to a week. It has worked for me in the past maybe it will work for you as well. Have a wonderful week and Happy Crochet!!😊😊

Hi, I have lived up north in several snowy states. And, I don't even want to drive when it rains. I hope I never have to drive in the snow. People don't drive well in NC when it's sunny and dry. 😮 Our area averages 200 accidents a month. Scary. Be safe. Stay safe and warm. 😇

I had to laugh at your discussion about snow and the South. I was born and raised in Texas and now live in Houston. One of the biggest issues regarding cold precipitation is we dont usually get 'just snow' we usually get sleet or ice either on top of whatever snow we get or its just ice and it coats everything, sometimes really thickly. There have even been cases where it snows then switches to rain and ends up being sleet. Then it all mixes and freezes! Thats when its REALLY BAD. There have been times when the rain/sleet/snow is curb deep when it freezes. That happened several years ago and we had no mail delivery even because what sanding trucks we had were on all the highways and interstates trying to keep traffic flowing. And we dont have snow plows! It lasted for over a week before anybody in the neighborhoods could get out. Down here in Houston we dont even have many sanding trucks or people to drive the ones we do have so they take the guys who drive trash trucks and put them on road crews to deal with sanding. They load pickup trucks with the sand mixture and give the guys plain shovels! Also because most school districts use buses, they close the schools because they dont want the buses on the roads. So, yes we panic! Lolol

On the lego front there is an app that scans the logo pile and then directions to put the parts together it also tells you where approximately the piece is in the spread. So you can buy a bag of odds and make lots of different things like you would with the booklets. Just a cheaper way of picking up a bag of bricks and still make things so garage sales thrift stores with bags of the bricks become lego sets but it's all random

I live in the Seattle area and work at a grocery store. Lucky me! We the people in my area see the first snowflake they run to the store in droves. It’s so funny. People can’t/don’t plan ahead, not even a day. The stories I could tell! Anyway, we are a very hilly area. The mountains on the east coast are like the area that we live in so people can’t get around if the snow stuck but it rarely sticks! Much like where you live the snow melts in a day maybe two. People! lol!

Hi Jen❤️🙏. I just wanted to say that I’m born and raised in Cleveland Ohio and have dealt with snow storms my whole life up to 2007 when mom and I moved to Florida. I’ve always learned that the South don’t know how to handle snowstorms or even some snow and don’t have the means of taking care of it too and also when there is iced roads too which I feel is understandably understanding. One year there was an ice storm and my mom and Aunt were going bqck to Ohio from Florida and they had to stay at a Hotel for the night and the next day when they were traveling back to Ohio there were roads closed and alot of ice on the roads too. No, people don’t know how to deal with snow and ice and don’t know how to drive in it either but however, if it was a total snowstorm, would you get in your car and drive in it or have Mr. Cinnamon drive in it? People do need to stock up to be prepared “in case” they do end up getting stuck in their homes. Yes also, people do act dingy with the snow and act like it’s some foreign substance falling from the sky and people just need to be careful too when out. If people don’t need to get out, then don’t. I’m just glad I live in Florida even though we will be freezing starting tonight. I truly don’t like cold weather too. Love your work and I do hope you have a blessed night and love to you and your family too. Sue M. Clearwater, Florida 🙏🥰😘❤️🌴😎🥶❌⭕️

The snow reaction made me laugh so hard. I was born in Switserland, and now live in Belgium. In Switserland, people don’t get scared at snow covered roads. In Belgium, if you have three show flakes coming down people start to panic. They won’t start hoarding, but they are definitely going to be panicking about road conditions. When I got my driver’s license, even though I was already living in Belgium but I took an extra course on driving under extreme conditions. Wind, ice, aquaplaning, low visibility, snow, you name it. I learned to lay off my brakes and to deal with what in essence is something I’ve been familiar with since early childhood. Now Belgians in general… as soon as the first snowflakes appear, they’ll know only one thing: brake, brake brake. Forget steering. Forget driving your manual gear shifted car one shift higher than you’d usually do to keep your rpm low. Forget looking at where you beed to go instead of looking at your obstacle. Forget any semblance of common sense. Hug your predecessor’s bumper and stand on those brakes like it’s going out of fashion. Turn the road into what essentially is the love child of a massive happy slip ‘n slide and a skating rink on acid. The danger isn’t the snow. The danger is the massive amount of headless chickens behind the wheel. But if you keep your distance and keep your cool, snowy roads are fine. Your yarns are GORGEOUS! I’m so sorry the purple roving turned out to be a dud. I checked around and it seems to me the lanolin possibly hardened and went through a process akin to polymerisation. Fats when partially polymerised go sticky. Add a bit of musty mould to it and you’ve got a smelly mess. If you can’t get the stickiness out of it, it’s not worth spinning. Fighting all the way through spinning and plying isn’t worth the yarn you get out of it. And that last skein, from the high end halloween coloured fibre is beautiful. Never mind the curly bits. 😊

❤Jen❤ I completely agree with you on the panic buying. I live in very south louisiana, 10 miles from gulf and omg it's horrid when there is a hurricane! If people would just keep ready all the time, it would not necessitate the panic! You should see the gas stations prior to storms here....jeez. (insert eyeroll) Your sweater is absolutely gorgeous! Great job!❤❤

Happy snow day!❄☃I live in MIssouri and people have acted like that here. It's the Snow-pocoalypse! All the eggs, milk, yogurt, cheese, soup....plus more. It's like the roads will never be scrapped or the sun won't shine and melt the snow ever again. 🙄🤪😆 We get snow here almost every year and it's the same reaction every time. It doesn't make sense. We've all dealt with ice and snow all of our lives but the panic shopping is kind of embarrassing. I agree. Surely a little prepping for bad weather would be a good idea, rather than panicking.

As a gal that raised in TX, I get what you are saying about Southerners and snow. I laughed about it. It is the same thing in my part of TX when a hurricane is approaching. I always rushed to the store and bought bread and SPAM. I never eat SPAM but it seemed like an item I needed!!! LOL

Try freezing the yarn fold it loosely so you don't get big clumps. Leave it for a week or 2. When you take it out of the freezer try separating the yarn again as it defrost. Should work then if not use fairy washing up liquid and let it soak. Rinse it avoiding clumps that does the trick xxx

I don’t have a trader Joe near me. They just recently put an aldi in down the street from me. It’s a nice small store. I like that. Because it don’t have all that junk in it like the big box stores.

Function off the top of your pantry and off the top 1/2 of your gas tank and don’t panic. Yup. And since covid I keep some more toilet paper around always. Just a little prep is generally all that’s needed. 😊♥️

We live in northern MD, 15 miles from the mason dixon line. This snow isn’t turning out to be much. I know what you’re talking about!

Hi Jenn, maybe its a grease, like when you get the dirty tackiness on kitchen items from cooking mainly with grease. try a degreaser maybe on the yarn.

Hi Jennifer. The stores/people here in FL get crazy during hurricane season too. Guess it happens everywhere. Just love your shirt. Still love your hsir color too. I don't dye my hair as most dyes make my hair itch (I have celiac so maybe thats why?). Ill have to check Aldis here again. Last time I went there they didnt have a good GF option. Take care. 😊
