No, he is NOT 'underrated'. I am sick of seeing that stupid word thrown around. If he, certain bands or music were, we wouldn't be discussing them and they wouldn't be famous. Underrated bands/singers/etc. are usually barely known at all, or have a small underground following. So using this word doesn't make you a Hip person because you like them, it makes it the opposite.

I agree. I actually prefer Joe Lynn Turner-era Rainbow rather than Graham Bonnet/Ronnie James DIo-era Rainbow. That's not to say that the two previously mentioned men weren't good singers, it's just I prefer Turner's voice a little more.

Joe Lynn Turner is extremely refined and sophisticated... Very often underrated and misunderstood by heavy metal heads... He is like a beautiful wine - just gets better with every album... His Mother's Army albums are superior! His Odyssey work is incredible! New album with Tägtgren is coming out soon - he is ever-changing, evolving, mysterious...

@@philbrown1474Completely agreed, Phil. The manner in how JLT carries a tune SPEAKS MAJOR VOLUMES!!!!! When I say "carry a tune"; that means when the rhythm changes abruptly, he maintains an evenflow thru-out the song w/o missing a beat. The only singer that can match w/JLT is Gil Moore (Triumph's drummer who also splits lead vocals duties w/guitarist Rik Emmett).

I'm so glad this video among others is now available here on KZbin on the official Rainbow channel. Good quality versions were almost impossible to find a few years ago. This song and the album was my first taste of Rainbow when I was a kid back in 1983 or 1984. It was also my introduction to the whole hard rock or heavy metal genre! I wish I'd seen the video back then but I only got to see it many years later. This song was the best thing I've ever heard and the solo section is excellent! David Rosenthal's Minimoog solo is still one of the best. It's very well constructed, skilfully played and melodic. It even mimics the sound of an engine and changing gears. How cool is that!

I actually had an early VR-prototype version of this racing game when I was a kid. It was a Tomytronic 3D device where you look into the binocular-like eyepieces as you tried to steer the car without crashing. That was a hard game, let me tell you. Seeing the game in Rainbow's video brought that memory back.

@@davidbrockett1 What I meant was for the average Joe like me that plays once a week in my bedroom I'm not like lot of YT drummer's and them kids you see that play 6-8 hrs a day practicing "Tom Sawyer" then show off on TY, yes I think I could play most of Bonzo's 1973 drum solo if I practiced it daily for hrs on in. I got my first kit in 1984 I'm 56, but I think I'm not that good my rudiments stink. I've been told I'm pretty good but ya ya then I watch Buddy Rich or Carl Palmer etc on YT and laugh smh and think damn I suck lol. You know we're our worst critics. I'm a self taught. Ever see that 7 year old japanese girl play Good Times Bad Times? I think her father made her play 8 hrs a day or she's one of those rare gifted kids than can play a musical instrument in two years that takes most people 20!! It kind of makes you jealous.
