Joe Lynn Turner, what a voice!
@shadowmcnehneh6082 жыл бұрын
What I love about Joe Lynn Turner is not only his range and depth to his voice, but, his diction is incredible for this genre of music. You can really understand the words he's singing, every last one. It's true that how much fame a musician enjoys is based on the time he or she enters the scene. There were many dominating bands at that time and alot of top notch bands like Rainbow got overshadowed. I feel the same about Cinderella. I heard them in concert in 2010 and they sounded just like they did in the late 80s. Incredible musicians. They were overshadowed by Aerosmith, Bon Jovi and so many others.
@analogkid49572 жыл бұрын
Rainbow were overshadowed specifically by Foreigner and Journey. They had the potential to be huge in mainstream popularity but had limited success. “Straight Between the Eyes” in the early 1980’s was their apex album.

I have "I surrender" in my playlist for about 10 years, i can't get enough of it even now in November 2019. Excelent composition, like most of Ritchie's work

@@charlesameyer1 yeah, many bands sounded the same back then. The opposite is true actually. There is more musical diversity now than ever since there are a countless number of artists.

A big hit here in the UK in 1981-Joe Lynn Turner 's voice is stunning.
One of the timeless songs of Rainbow. And I think J.L.Turner is a great vocal. love how he moves his shoulders. naturally so cool.

When I first encountered Rainbow in the 1980s, I wasn't sure how good it was. I was a heavy metal fan then, and Rainbow sounded lighter than I expected. Now, more than 30 years later, I can truly appreciate the group, especially Mr. Joe Lynn Turner. His voice and rich emotions are more than perfect, AND he still sings incredibly! What a vocalist! He is who I admire most.
