My mum, a hair stylist of 30+ years, bleached my black box dyed hair to a red, blonde, orange patchy mess. We then added a dark root and threw on a colour mix of mostly green but also blue for colour correction. The patchiness only added amazing dimension to my hair. I get compliment constantly and people are always asking how I achieved such a deep emerald hair with so much depth. Happy accidents!!!

Omg! Me the opposite! I’m the hairdresser always doing my mom’s hair ( back in the day!). She insisted on perms and an auburn color ... I started to style her hair with a new colored mousse.. all the ends turned black!! She wasn’t having that... made me stay at salon all night bleaching out the black and re-coloring. I thought she would be so mad at me! In the mornings she would put hot rollers in her hair before work. I got a call from her that her style held so much better!! after my “mistake”!! Lol

this is such an innovative technique. it drives me insane when stylists bleach the whole head to a level 10 and use shadow roots or colors that don't need the hair to be that light to begin with.

Like if its a super dark green it only needs a few shades lighter then black

exactly! My hair was orange when I put dark violet on it, and it goes violet-blue-green in span of a month or so and then stays green (after over 2 months it was still green but then I re-dyed it). I would have to bleach it like 3 times to get it white and this was achieved in ONE 20min bleach with 30vol! Sure it wouldn't go green probably if it was white but it would be much more damaged and well, turquoise-greenish color is pretty anyway.

For some shades that brassy or intense yellow base can actually help you get the color you want. When I worked at a beauty supply shop when green was getting really popular I had so many people coming back in unhappy with the shade they'd gotten because they'd lightened their hair way more than they needed to. They'd wind up with this very soft, medium emerald when they'd been going for a deeper, ocean shade or a sharper dark green.

What a great makeup look! I first notices how your eyes really pop through the glasses, but my favorite part is how the black eyes and the red lips reinforce colors in the hair. Like you're an art piece where the colors were chosen and placed to move your eye nicely through the image. Sorry for the ramble ☺️

Great video :) So good to hear someone else actually say about avoiding overbleaching! I've been home hairdyeing (I know I know) for nearly 15 years, and always get a lot of positive comments about the quality and length of my hair. I've always told people that I rarely re-bleach (maybe once a year and only the roots) and use similar colours or tones to dye straight over remaining colour in the hair, but people never seem to believe me haha so for example I'll go from pink to purple to blue to green without needing to bleach. My hair is naturally near black, but I'll usually leave the roots, put a dark colour over that area and add a gradient through the length of the hair so the roots aren't noticeable at all. Creative colour and colour correcting is so fun, I really love it!

My hair bleaches to a level 10 in one bleaching (I do it at home, but I've had a professional stylist give me tips on how to do it). My ends don't take colour nearly as well as the freshly bleached roots, so my pastel pink always takes way brighter at the roots. But it always looks like a lovely ombre and I get compliments on it all the time!

Just subscribed to your channel. You’re putting out phenomenal content. I personally love creative color but was unable to color my hair due to policies from the company I managed for eight years. So....it’s been colored black repeatedly. I typically only apply the color to my roots. But, I cannot manage to remove the black with any success. Either damage or the color is just too stubborn to be removed. This video offered some ideas on how I might be able to tackle my hair. I can’t wait to see your channel skyrocket. You are a genius, this is seriously so smart! I recently did my roots blue, the rest of my hair is pink, so now after bleaching my roots this time I have a bleached roots then a band of blue then The rest of my hair is pink and and I know the blue is gonna be rough to get out so i want to try to work with it, while leaving my hair pink and hopefully getting back to pink. So I may end up with a band of rainbow that then grows out to pink. Haha. I dont know. But you are smart, and I love all beautiful colors you create!

I am using blue black as the base and i ran out as i got to the frontal so im going this morning to get more so i can finish. I did my colored section a bit big but thats ok. It will be awseome. I got my hair bleached at the salon, so i can mess around with temporary colors. After I came from the salon it was quite orange/yellow. But then I did a thinned puprle over it. And now it is amazing pastel pink after a few washes! I absolutely love it
