You didn't need to reroot her you just need to use shampoo and conditioner to get the smooth hair and hannah her hair not different from others just wash her hair if you buy her 🙂🙂🙂

I loved Amaya's white hair but wave 2 just made her more beautiful because she wore tons of black clothing with a rainbow esthetic so Amayas hair really popped which I loved but I'm sad shes...a replacement of someone (I won't say as its a spoiler)

FYI... a slight (very, VERY slight) spritz of Pledge helps with detangling and luster. As a drag queen, I use it on my non-human hair wigs which are basically doll hair for adults. :D LOL

I remember when I got my Amaya months ago and tried out the colors, the orange definitely made me think of mac & cheese XD But yeah, all the colors are pretty pastel. I like really light colors and making stuff pastel but not everyone does. Also, that "wash hair before coloring" sticker on the box was not there when i bought mine. It must be a newer addition for later dolls made.

It just feels like they all dye their hair (the eyebrows colors normally are natural color and they have hair dyes at the school) but i dont think they will show the "dark side" of doing it if its true

I'm sure MGA didn't think this much into it but maybe since her base is white, she uses color that washes out and doesn't damage the hair? That's what I do with my hair! Though mine isn't white lol

Love this Amaya Raine doll and the new version of her looks awesome with her rainbow hair. I haven't tried the hair colours on this doll yet so was great to see how they look, pity they don't look brighter and work better. The doll herself is amazing and has some really cool long hair for styling, her outfit is cool but the plastic jacket makes it difficult to put her arms down, and love the long boots. Was great to see how the colours worked and cool you were sent the wing and some new dolls, look forward to seeing them. And loved your review 😍💖🌈

this Amaya is so pretty! personally i prefer this platinum Amaya over the newest wave 2 one. i like the blue glitter and the hair chalk but i know that if i got her as a kid i probably would have been a little disappointed with the subtlety of the colors. hope your dolls are ok after the dollvalanche!

I got her as a christmas present and i totally fell in love with her...BUT it was a real drama to get all the gel and glue out of her hair. I had to wash her nearly 30 minutes under cold water to not soften the glue inside her head. I had no fun! There was so much glue in her hair that even after the third wave of a mild baby shampoo there was still some glue in it. Now the tinsel doesn't look nice anymore and i'm sad. I tried to connect to MGA to ask, what i could do but here, in germany, they are not availabe. I came in contact with their representative here in germany and the only thing the bored lady on the telephone said...yeah, she will make a notice. That's one thing MGA should change...

Hi, I just wanted to tell you that Rainbow High and MGA dolls in general don't have glue inside their head, usually only Mattel dolls (like Monster High or Ever After High) have glue inside their head. :3

Mine is a mess. Hair was on my lap,the brush, my bowl. I have special brushes and the tinsle acts like you do when you use scissors to spiral it. Chunks came out too. The brush that she came with makes it worse. I dont know how to trim it cleanly. For now I might put in a ponytail.

So I just got her and when i was at the store i realised that the color of threads from the skirt stiching vary on each doll, one i saw had only yellow and green on her skirt, another one red, blue and yellow but no green and the one i bought had all the four colours, sadly only one "spike" in blue. I got Amaya and her hair was so full of the crunchy gel. So i washed it right? WELL! Literally so much hair came out and I had to cut it! I plan on rerooting her. The gel stuff is meh, and it does kind of stain the hair. I love the doll, but the hair is so bad

If you wash all the gel out the elastic’s will slide right out and there won’t be as much shedding as that, mine didn’t need a haircut like that 1 did☝️

Reminds me of Bratz magic hair color dolls (I have Chloe). Her hair dye is in spray bottles and the colors are ALOT more vibrant. I am loving the Rainbow high dolls though. I'll get one, I will.

I hope the color washes out. I've seen two reviews that say it doesn't, which is a shame. Don't they test these things? I heard the new Amaya's hair is also super stiff, so it definitely won't be as soft and nice as the big doll's. Maybe at least the wig hair will be nice right out of the box.

American Girl used to have amazing quality in their dolls, but I haven't gotten an American Girl doll in close to two decades, not since my mother and grandmother bought me the Girl of the Year Marisol doll and then Kit. They're both still holding up beautifully. I don't want to buy from them anymore, though, since they phased out so many of their historical dolls in favor of the modern dolls and the dolls that are supposed to look like the little girls who buy them. American Girl was what helped me discover my love of history, and it's sad to see that go.
