Mario had worked so hard the whole way and when Waluigi got the triple mushroom in second, my heart dropped. When Mario saw Waluigi passing the finish line and he said “I was-a-the number one. I had-a-the chance to use that-a-red shell before and I missed-a-my chance. It’s all over now. I’ll-a-just be left behind for him. I guess I-a-know how Luigi feels now. It feels as if the kart engines were in their last breath. Even if they don’t fall, they’ll just end up stranded in an endless rainbow road. The beaten-up cars pleading for an end. They both stare for a minute. No words are said. The unstable idle engines silenced by acceptance. Mario’s engine revs up. Luigi follows close behind. They won't see anyone ever again. Luigi grabs an item box. No jingle. Just a slow spinning screeching roulette. It’s a golden mushroom. Luigi looks at Mario. Mario doesn’t look back. Luigi closes his eyes and crushes the shroom, launching him forward into a sharp turn.

Mario and Luigi were on an adventure through the mushroom kingdom to save Peach once again. Jumping across pits, climbing vines, and stomping goombas. In 8-1 however, when looking down a pipe to see if it was a warp pipe, he saw what looked like lifeline. Mario shook his head in a merge of disillusion, confusion, and fear. Mario ignored it believing he was just hallucinating. When they finally got to bowser's castle, they jumped, skipped, and ran through, talking about the big cake they'll have back at Peach's castle. When they got to the bridge however, Bowser was not there.. Mario thought to himself, "It must be one of Bowser's nasty tricks, he's become to predictable." Mario and Luigi looked around.. Before a faint, yet irritating ring began to repeat in Mario's ear. Until... it began to sound like a voice. Mario asked Luigi," Luigi! Are'a you hearing this?" Luigi however, did not respond. The voice, it was female. It sounded so familiar. "No. No. It couldn't be.." Mario thought. Peach! The voice steadily became clearer and clearer, until. It Mario could hear what peach was saying, "Mario, Wake up! Please! Please!" Mario's was in much distress yet his face seemed so calm. Mario began, frantically looking for Peach. Bowser. Even Luigi, was gone! Mario in pure desperation fell to his knees, strained the muscles in his fingers, titled his head down and screamed. "What is a-happening to a-me!". Then silence.. out of the corner of the room a bright heavenly light appeared. It began to swallow the whole room, Mario looked at the light in awe, It looked almost like a heavenly apparition that one could not see of it's appearance but knew it's beauty was pure. Then Mario collapsed to the ground, and let the light absorb him so. Then... Mario woke up in a hospital bed, he turned to his right, and saw.. Peach. Tears in her eyes as she cried," Mario! Oh my God, Mario! They embraced eachother with a hug that felt as if it could last for hours, days, maybe even years. Then there was a tap on Mario's shoulder, he turned to his right to see a lifeline, and a doctor. The doctor first stated his name, Todd. And gently asked Mario, do you know how long you have been gone for? Mario replied, "No." He was about to wish he had never asked, "Mario.." Pain arose in the doctors once calm collected voice, "you have been in this bed for 13 years.." Mario was struck with immediate pain, he felt as if his heart had shattered into pieces. "Mario, you were driving on the highway one day coming back from the Italian festival with your brother Luigi, when, you were hit from the side, head on. No one from the hospital staff thought you were going to survive, but I never gave up on you. Mario, immediately. Desperately cried, "And what of a-my brother Luigi!. In the pit of his stomach, Mario knew what had happened. The doctor told Mario," Luigi had sustained major injuries and was rushed to the hospital immediately. Where he had.. well... passed away. I'm sorry... Mario then turned to Peach, tears in his eyes as he cried," he was-a my brother!.. No!......." After a long bawling, Wario walked into the room wearing a sleak black suit, one of those, premium, 1000 dollar suits. After telling Mario he was sorry for his loss he explained he had used some of the money from his business, Warioware, to start a charity fund for car crash victims such as Mario and Luigi. Perhaps Wario was not so greedy after all. Days passed when Mario then attended Luigi's funeral, he had struggled to get used to the world, as it was not the same as it once was, before.. the crash. Luigi's grave had a quote of Luigi's on it it read, "Luigi, A shadow of my brother is a shadow to be proud of." Mario then looked up into the the sky, and softly spoke with a melancholy grin upon his face, tears in his eyes, no Luigi, you were the true superstar.. Years later, Mario wrote a book, Mario and his adventures in the mushroom Kingdom. It was a bestseller and won many awards. Written and at the end of the book it states," Toad had told me my princess was in another castle, I always thought he had meant, the castle Bowser was in. Little did I know it was outside of the Mushroom Kingdom entirely, out of that world entirely. I'm sorry Peach. I'm sorry Luigi.

I like what you did here. In the original, the key starts in E Mixolydian (which is basically A major starting on E) and then for the hook, it goes to A major (ionian). So essentially, the key doesn't change, but the mode within the key signature does. You basically did the same here, since the first chord you hear is E maj (technically Esus4), you translated that into E minor and turned it into E harmonic minor for the effect and when it got to the hook, it was set to A Dorian #4, which is E harmonic minor starting on A. This is nerdy stuff I know, but I gotta show respecc to the attention to detail here :P
