Kelly was actually voiced by Trey Parker's girlfriend at the time Toddy Walters. Toddy actually appeared in a few South Park episodes (she sings the Celine Dion parody "Like a Throbbing Star" during Cartman's Moms flashback during the drunken barn dance and also a few side characters in seasons 1 and 2) as well as a few of Trey and Matt's other projects such as Orgazmo and Cannibal! The Musical. Her last appearance in the show was actually during Tweek Vs Craig where she voiced the teacher who was trying to date Mr Adler.

I know what you are saying, but the creator of the show made this episode specifically because of a vacation he took to Costa Rica. Somebody recommended he go there, and he said he hated every minute of it. Cartman’s lines throughout the episode are pretty much Trey Parker’s direct thoughts about his trip.

I've never been to the South American or Congo rainforests, but I'd imagine they're absolutely stunning. But I DESPISE hot and humid weather, and despise snakes even more. So if I visited, I'd go during the coldest month and carry a pistol and 2x4 block of wood.

This episode is great because in the Creator commentary with Trey and Matt Trey said he was told by Flee of the Red Hot Chili Peppers that Costa Rica was awesome and so Trey went on vacation there and hated it because of all the bugs and the heat and humidity etc.

yea the first few seasons were their experimental phase. my personal favorite but, i grew up on those episodes when they were first airing. i'll always have a bias for the earlier seasons but i really think the lack of structure made the show a lot more creative and edgy.
