i've always thought this was weird, maybe one of you can clear it up. Mr Cotswald goes to the bar, tells the other dads to parent their kids better. then when they suggest he parents differently, he goes off about "i won't tell you how to raise your kids, you won't tell me how to raise mine" that's the gist, right? he's just a hypocrite with no actual point other than "please leave my kids alone"
@LeesReviews6910 ай бұрын
I was loosely “home schooled” as a child, mostly math and English. And I learned the rest reading books. I most often felt like these nervous kids when going out or when I was put into foster care at 14. I didn’t grow out of my nervousness until I was 32 and put on Lexipro. It’s been 4 years on the medication but I’ve never felt more comfortable with myself.

its called a retcon i believe. retroactively connecting or disconnecting something so its convenient to tell a consistent story its easier than writing a consistent story, by lying about what counts and what doesn't

This episode also gives me one of my favorite "forgotten" South Park jokes. Mayor: All right, Mark, your word is "conscientious." Cartman: What? What the fuck does that mean? For me, it's Cartman's facial expression that gets me the most.
@FeRnAnDo153810 ай бұрын
I said first seasons are kind of weird: I don't know if Kyle is bald or Parker and stone didn’t decide on his hair color. And now each kid has a personal color: Stan is black, Kyle is ginger, Cartman is coffee and Kenny is blonde. Altough, great video! PS: sadly, the home school kids didn’t appeared again.
@marycook15729 ай бұрын
Come on, now-Rebecca is conscientious! She is performing brain surgery, which involves shaving the scalp.
@seinfan97 ай бұрын
The Rebecca character is strongly based on an actual national spelling bee winner named Rebecca Sealfon. Randy and Jason Sklar ripped on her a few times on a couple of episodes in a little known show called Cheap Seats. Worth watching the uploads here on the site.

No Spelling Bees aren't that big a thing in small towns, not High School Graduation Night, thats a different story, half the town tries to show up for those for some reason, not long after I graduated they shifted from a Friday Night to a Saturday Morning and started requiring Tickets to get in and each graduate got a certain number of tickets for family members.

Spelling bees arent uniquely american but the first recognized spelling bee was in the US and its much more popular in the US than elsewhere. They are optional and help kids at least a little learn basic spelling

it should also be noted that there is a preconception that homeschool kids are better than public schools this is not born out by any metrics in fact spending on many factors, both are equally as terrible turns out when you have a crap home life, crap parents and the education system is three slops of garbage in general it doesn't matter if you go to public school or homeschool.
