I can't imagine being a Lumberjack back in the day using this saw. Those guys burned thousands of calories daily with the amount of work done. I worked cutting trees down in the late eighties logging Pine. Taught me a hell of a work indicate as a young man. Times have changed as well as the face of logging. Much respect to the past loggers & the ones barely able to hold an axe.

Thanks for uploading this. I'm finding more of these now on youtube. I've just uploaded a couple of raw videos of my grandfathers machine. He would have enjoyed the clutch! Regards, j

Hi. My father in law has a drag saw with a 6ft blade. He has sharpened the teeth and is looking to set them. Can anyone advise as to what offset is needed? He is thinking of 1/16 inch. Also, he would like to know at which point on the teeth should the bend be made - at the base or at some other point towards the tip. The teeth are arranged sets of two cutting teeth (one left, one right facing) and a drag tooth. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. David, Ireland.

You are dreaming. That is practically idling. It's unlikely to be using more than 1/8 hp. They have the rocking set to minimum, and it would cut twice as fast if the blade was tilting more in forward and reverse cuts. These make much narrower and cleaner cuts than chainsaws and use less than 10 percent of the energy to do it. They are the fastest cutting for the energy put in of any powersaw ever invented
