Raining harder in the house than outside

Emotions run extremely high with all of this terrible weather We are dealing with building this #barndominium we have been getting pounded with rain nonstop and now we’re expected to get Highwinds. We pray for a break

Tom, I can see the disappointment in your face and it's impossible not to worry about your home in this situation. Hopefully the wind didn't damage anything and the osb will be fine. It can withstand a lot of water over time before is goes bad. Try not to worry to much, everything is going to be alright.

Thanks buddy .. I ended up hooking the dozer and excavator up to the building with straps just to keep it stable. There is a decent amount of movement from the wind. Once I did that it helped tremendously will find out how much the house is Contractor didn’t seem to be too worried about it. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

No worries! Appreciate you stopping by. Yeah things have been moving pretty quickly. If it wasn’t for the rain we would be a lot further hoping to get a nice stretch here next week had a little bit of wind damage. We got to repair but nothing catastrophic.

Hopefully the rain will stop shortly and everything will be good. When we built, the rain got crazy but our walls were tied other and the roof was sheathed. The roof vent was open and the concrete held a ton of water inside around the base plate. It is sure looking good and I think it will be ok!

Yeah, it’s been something else for sure actually had to strap two pieces of equipment to each corner of the second floor because it was starting to move in some high winds, but I got it pretty stable now. Hopefully we can get things plumbed back up Monday and get the trusses set Tuesday. Get things tightened up. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yikes! That is a lot of water Tom. The positive is it will dry, and yes OSB is fine for a certain amount of time in the elements. I think you’re better off this happened before you stood the trusses. Hopefully it stops soon, stay safe man. Cheers, Mike.

Dude! My stomach just feels sick for ya. You're right, hard to build without some kind of weather adversity happening. But this seems extreme. Hoping and praying everything holds up well and can carry on with the build without too many issues. It'll be fine, I'm sure. Look forward to the next update. 👍🏻

There aren't enough angle stays on that build, I've seen them blow over with 5 times as many!!

You are 100% correct when the winds came the building started to shift and shake. I immediately put up several more wind, bracing boards and hooked to pieces of equipment at each end to it with chains to keep it from going over. 🤦🏻‍♂️
