Agreed! My wife and I were in the medical field, and have seen how very rare and precious a good technical teacher is. He knows his material so well that he can explain even complicated tepee or y very understandably. Yeah because he can afford to pay a mechanic to do so. They’re probably charging the customer $4,000 for all this. When the parts cost probably $900 combined. Mechanics are a rip off. Do the work yourself. Also that moog pitman arm has a ton of bad reviews online. Another issue paying a mechanic to do the work for you, they use the cheapest parts without checking to see if they’re good quality just to maximize their profit and a lot of times the parts go bad just days outside the warranty period. Mechanics are for lazy people afraid of a few grease stains on their cloths.

@@brandonstclair6530 it will last for hundreds of thousands of miles. I had a 2007 Tundra SR-5 and it only had 105,000 miles. I replaced the Bilsteins shocks at 92,500 miles only because they began to leak. I used KYB Monomax struts and shocks as replacements. Runner seals will dry amd overall certain fluids needs to be flushed due to the breakdown (age, heat, etc) brake fluid and power steering should be flushed very 30-35,000 miles. Drive your Tundra on the highway as well, it serves to heat the engine for about a 30-40 miles stretch a few times a year. It helps heat up the engine and get rid of the carbon build up in the valve areas.

What does cause the rust in the NE? Is it salt on the roads? I remember from when I lived in Detroit in the early 1970s that Detroit cars (salt sprayed roads) suffered from rust a lot more than Windsor cars (no salt spraying). I live on the east coast of Australia, about 100 miles north of Sydney. It's a five to ten minute walk to the nearest beach. It can get uncomfortably humid at times, but we have an almost perfect climate most of the time. We don't seem to have a vehicle rust problem except for people like commercial off-the-beach fishermen.

What you've done so far would probably take at least two to three days just to get apart in this area, if in fact the cross members aren't rotted all to pieces to start with! There is a huge difference between working on an airplane and a car, a car cannot fall out of the sky, generally. Bolts and nuts on cars and trucks are meant to be reused unless they have been damaged and I am sure they are designed heavier than they need be because amateurs can work on them. While I cleaned up all the hardware on my race car when I converted it, I certainly did not feel the need to replace it. Modern car and truck engines are a different deal as much of the hardware such as rod bolts are not reusable.

Man, you’re so cool. I love the comments like, “click” when fake torquing and, “gravity” when you drop something. A lot of your quips sound just like me when I’m tearing into a job. I know you aren’t looking for unsolicited advice, but here goes: how about some Kroil during disassembly? That stuff is pure gold when you are taking apart things that have been riding around for decades. Wet is better than dry. Maybe a little messy but we can clean up later.

It almost hurts to see how easily those lcas slid off the torsion bars. 20 years of northeast winters and maxed out torsion keys have seized the bars in at both ends on my 03 Avalanche. Even a 30lb jackhammer wouldn’t make them budge. I’ve resolved to just cutting out the bars and going for a full coil over conversion. I only wish the previous owners had taken better care of the front suspension. I’ll fix it up eventually once spring comes around though. Very helpful video!

This must be GM truck week, I did three this week myself. Not all front ends though, haha. Nice work. Congrats on the 1/4 million subs!

I recently went thru my tool box to remove tools I don't use much anymore. (like my carb & points adjusting screwdriver) and came across my pitman arm puller. Been many years since I had to use it, so it's in a special place in a box of "lost tools." should donate them to a local trade school. My days of working on parallel suspension vehicles is long past!

"That's not going to fit! Take the brake line loose." Yesterday we were trying to pull an air filter to replace it but there were two vacuum lines, several bolts and an electrical connection in the way. As I started a "Rainman-esque" monolog while removing all the obstructions the boss said, "Just make sure you put it all back!" My reputation may have been damaged when I put in the comments that the seatbelt warning light was on prior to service. Thank you, Ray. Today I am here trying to get my mojo back. I was doing my taxes and just feeling beat. the. heck. down! I'm feeling better already! Stay safe.

Excellent method of removing loctite is to use a small torch, even a handheld propane torch works. Heart the bolt and the loctite releases.

I long for the days of working on Florida cars. Up here in the great white (from salt. lol😆) north. That job would take 3 times longer just from rust and bolts breaking. Of course an early 2000's suburban would have long went to the bone yard up here. I do miss living and working down there. Nice job brother...😎
