Good morning Elysia. I’m currently watching this video and I had to stop and share this story. This is not meant to scare you but make you more aware. I’m a RN that worked over 25 years in the Operating Room in St. Louis, Missouri. I will never forget the day we had a patient who was also a nurse come into the OR for surgery with Necrotizing Fasciitis. It’s that flesh eating bacteria on her hand and arm. She got it from a cut she had on her hand that garden soil got into her cut and caused a horrific infection. I say this because ever since then I never garden in the dirt without gardening gloves. Please consider wearing them whenever you can. It was a terrible thing that happened to that nurse and I would never want anything bad to happen to you. On a positive note…I LOVE YOUR GREENHOUSE!! Cannot wait to see your garden. Stay safe!! ❤

I've picked up a tip about making soil blocks. There may be insects in the bag of soil, so Becky of Acre Homestead used boiling water to moisten her soil. She also adds fertilizer at that time. You have to let it cool down, but it might help avoid problems in the long run.

We make our own "pots" by rolling recycled paper (free flyers, and packing paper, mostly) around the bottom of a bottle or can, then plant the whole thing when the plant is ready.

If it wasn't such a security/privacy issue, you could totally sell a weekend at the English homestead-a working B&B, lol. Idk why I thought of this, just watching your videos thinking how awesome is your lives and how beautiful you make everything. Just saying thank you for being such a wonderful family filled with love and positivity. Your always a ray of sunshine 🌞

I truly agree and understand not using excessive plastic items like the plant pots. Our world is full of plastic and I think it is a cause of many illnesses. I try to purchase food items in glass when possible. I’m sure the rain storage units are PVC (a type of plastic)and your watering can is plastic and buckets are so handy and sturdy but again, plastic. The hospitals are even filled with plastic tubing and tools, etc used in our ‘healing’ process. I don’t think we will ever get completely away from it.

Good work who needs a tractor ? I've seen the video of the trooper moving the bale off the road . In Oklahoma we get high winds we've lost 2 patio covers and a trampoline . We also get tornadoes they are so scary . When I was 7 there was a tornado on mother's day my dad and I went to.his mothers my mom and sister went to her mothers house . Dad and I didn't get home as fast we didn't have time to get in the house. Dad made me get in the floorboard of the backseat he put all the pillows and blankets over me and got over me the tornado picked up the car turned it around and sat it down on the other side of the driveway. That was scary. Prayers and Love 💞 From Oklahoma

There's so many goodies in this video that I keep playing it over and over to try to catch them all. 1. Elysia is a beast! Flipping that hay bail like a pro!! 2. You really do need a tractor. It is not a wishful thing, it is a need. 3. I love the updates on all of the beautiful animals on your homestead. 4. Saving rain water will be such a blessing. 5. Yay for raspberries, my favorite berry. When I was a kid we had a very large garden. A long row of raspberries was a separation between the vegetable garden and the fruit trees and other berries (blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and boysenberries). 6. You deserve all the love from your YT family. I don't think you realize how much we love your family. 7. So glad that Philip's parents are so close and you can spend time together even doing things like planting raspberries. Those are the special memories. So many more goodies, that's just a few. Love, peace, and light!

Your family has such a beautiful piece of property! Your brook is best! I had tears just watching you show your special gifts. How thoughtful💞 Love that you love sharing with and helping your in-laws. Not only are you and Phillip so creative but so thoughtful too💞 So interesting learning about your soil blocks. Had no idea. I grew up with having to have to gatden in by Memorial Day, back then May 30. Daddy always just planted everything, all his seeds, directly in the ground, western Oregon. Plus my Dad had the greenest of green thumbs and fortunately his young great-granddaughter inherited his green thumb. He always had his great-granddaughters with him in his gardens from the time the were just months old. Now my younger granddaughter tells me she hopes to homestead our property, inherited by me from my parents and to her from me when I no longer need it🥴😊 My older granddaughter thinks that's quite ok as long as little Sis grows enough for her too😅Hopefully our property will then be passed down to my 2 great-grandsons, almost 5 and just turned 2.💙💙 Always enjoy your videos.
