The plastic will be better when it gets older, maybe putting the plastic in the othe direction would have helped and its suprising how high it needs to be to get the water to run off efficiently. ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.

Yes once I’d made them up I realised that lol. Clive’s conundrum garden had a good idea about using silicone! Higher higher! Cheers Terry

@@MarkyBigSmoke running a silicone bead wouldn't stick on the new plastic, done that been there and it came off. A nice big space that will fill the tank even if you loose 50% of the rain.

Cheers Terry, much appreciated! Thanks for the heads up on that one!

Great finds Mark !! Is there ever a job in gardening that doesn't lead to another lol I can't think of 1. But that's part of the fun !! Build looks great !! When it's dryer, maybe a thin bead of epoxy or caulking could replace the heavy timbers ?? Crazy but might work. Tons of those tubes 1/2 used in "skips" Have a great weekend Mark!! Jason and Colleen 🌱⛏🪚

Hi guys, too true! Yes, great idea with the beading, I’m sure that’s a better solution! I’ll give it a go when it’s dry! Cheers guys, have a good weekend too!

Tryed that trick with the silicone Jason and it doesn't stick to new plastic, mine came off within weeks.

Try giving the roof a wipe down with soap or Fairy liquid. It will break the surface tension of the water and it will flow faster & drag the rest of the rain droplets with it.

Ooh er, thanks Steve, good idea. I’ll give it a try!
