I'm six again, running around the yard with my sibling or friends acting like we could bend the elements. I'm six again, not a care in the world and watching avatar the last air bender for the first time and having no idea what will happen. I'm 6 again, feeling the water drip down my hand in the shower thinking I could water bend. I'm t again, sitting around the tv with my whole family on a Friedan night. I'm 14, curled up in a ball on my bed in tears stressed about school and how I'm not good enough, I here this song and I pull out my computer and rewatch the series and I think about the happy times. Childhood happens once, you only get to experience something once. Dot take it for granted, and always keep a part of your younger self in your heart because it does matter. This show was literally my childhood, I would stay up until 10 which I thought was late wit my brother and sister and watch this show. Never forget the things that are happy or we get submerged in the things that are bad

I remember wanting to get home from school as soon as possible to watch each new episode. While my school years weren't the most happy, Avatar was a light in all that darkness. The fuzzy glow of summer, running around in the grass pretending we could fire, earth, or air bend. After it ended in 2008, I remember rewatching it every summer up until early high school where things started to fall apart. Now, in college, and I'm feeling that same joy showing my roommate this show for her first time. I grew up with this show, and it has such a special place in my heart. I melt with happiness just knowing it's becoming popular again. It's helped me through so much... I don't know what I would have done without it

Wow, it's curious that the same thing happened to me! I'm 19 as well, and I also watched the show here and there when I was 7. I fully understood the strong message this show has and how helpful it can be for life now. I finished the show yesterday, and It was helping me dealing through a hard time (almost losing my mom because of covid), and now I feel like what am I supposed to do. Besides, I'm turning 20 in 9 days. The only thing I can think thanks to all this is that time flies, shows end, people get sick/old and die, and the can only way you can help is by feeling calmed, maybe nostalgic and grateful, acknowledging your aim, knowing that those are things that I can't change, and I should let it flow.

I only can remember bits, although I remember the intro by heart and always say along with Katara and my dad would always smile and praise me I definitely remember Toph and Zuko becoming good and when I rewatched I was waiting for Zuko to become good since ep1, and was suprised when he only joined the group in the last few episodes of book 3, idk why I remembered him joining the group for a long time haha And the only episode that I remember almost fully is the episode where Katara bloodbended. Oh that really scared me (and I remember me trying to bloodbend people too lol I remember putting my hand in front of the car's ac and telling my father I could airbend haha And I would fight with my brother all the time, I would say I'm a waterbender and he would choose to be a fire bender. I always win because I would say that my water extinguishes fire and we would quarrel and in the end it would end up a real fight hahaha Ah those were good times

everyone here has been commenting about how much atla means to them, so i’ll join in: i watched atla all the time in elementary and middle school, i truly grew up with it. it taught me so much about the world before i knew the harsh realities of it. it brought me comfort and peace in dark times. i rewatched it all the time in high school and college. now i’m 29, and ive just rewatched it twice in a month! i yearn for my childhood and the happiness atla brought to me when i was a kid and when things were so much simpler. i struggle with my mental and physical health so much and i never thought life would be this way. atla may just seem like a silly kids show to some people, but to me, and many others, it’s comfort, warmth, love, friendship, happiness, childhood, peace. when i rewatch it i get to feel a piece of my childhood again. this song is so beautiful and sad and sweet. it encapsulates the bittersweetness of life. i am so eternally grateful to atla and the creators and the characters for what they have given me. much love to you all, please never lose hope, no matter how hard and dark things get. i promise it won’t always be this bad. i promise there is always beauty and joy around the corner. i promise that life is worth it. ❤

I miss this show so much. When I was little me and my older sister would watch this show all the time while it was airing. Me and her are very close and avatar is something we bonded through so much as kids. This song right here literally always brings me back. Simply put, there will never be another avatar ever; this show was just so perfect in every aspect that we will never see another one like it again. I do respect Korra, but the OG series just did everything beautifully, and it’ll take some serious and amazing talent to surpass it. I used to not care for this show very much as a kid. Now, it speaks more to me as an adult. What I liked most about this show is while the fire nation got a bad rep for being tyrannical and evil, there were many individuals from the fire nation that were the complete opposite. I believe the show highlighted that very well. I also got emotional at the scene where Appa was reminiscing the time he was a calf and when Aang and Appa were reunited.

Avatar was my childhood... abuse left me dissociating for hours feeling like I was 1 of team Avatar. Scenes with Iroh felt so warm and uncomfortable now they make me sob. Avatar was all I had I wish there was an Iroh in my life to be proud of me. I didn't expect Avatar to be so emotional for me but the ending of the song always makes me cry more it feels like someone is there holding me...

Now imagine riding on Appa with the Gaang and it starts to rain, but no worries Katara puts up a water bubble over appa which stops the rain from entering. Imagine the view, hearing the rain & riding on Appa with the Gaang on your way to your next adventure ❤️ I love this show

I remember growing up with this show! always looked forward to the new episodes and watched it every chance I got! when it ended I was 12 the same as Aang and it felt like such a journey

I was listenin' to this masterpiece when I realized that this loop will never give the true love between Aang and Katara...Cause, we all know that powerfull string punch that breaks our heart every single time in the final kiss scene. So, yeah..I had to switch it to the short and complete version...ahahah thanks for reading this

I didn't watch it until a few years ago when I was grown and it was on Netflix, but I got to talk with my best friend while I was watching it. He did grow up with it, and his joy in sharing it with me was more than enough, and certainly more than I ever deserved.
