1:37 The way he turns to you instead of away, even with the knowledge of what you're going to do.... Just these small moments make the bond and trust between you two very visible.

If you need an easier way to apply eye ointment, wear a glove and apply a stripe of the ointment on the inside of your index finger, then use your thumb and middle finger to keep the eye open, and swipe the side of your index finger with the ointment on it across the eye! That way you have a free hand to control their head, and you don’t lose as much product! I had a horse with recurrent eye ulcers and this trick saved me a lot of hassle!

Our mare had chronic eye problems and we did it like that, just without gloves but washed hands 😊 Worked great and is sooo much easier and precise 🤗

I was worried the tip of the tube could poke or scratch Emporio's eye. A clean finger or thin medical glove would be best to apply the ointment to avoid further injury.

This is how I did it too, but then my mares weren't as well behaved as Emporio 😅

I love it that you provide hay 24/7. Horses are grazers and it is important that they have food at all times.

I think the reason we find horse husbandry so relaxing is the memory we have of the cleaning of stables and caring of the horses … I always found it both relaxing and rewarding! It’s quite a clean establishment you have … high standards of care and no doubt, well worth the stable fees. Wondering with the hay at the stable vs. home, do you steam it as well? It doesn’t appear so. The routine you have set-up with the horses for the walker, cleaning stalls twice daily, will prove to be very much demanding once you have a full barn. We used to dunk our hay in a water bucket, when it was slightest dusty … with cattle the importance of not needed the hay to be dry before being baled up, isn’t the same as for horses. Especially sport horses where the demand of good physical fitness is crucial. Still waiting for the VLOG telling us all the news and bringing us up to speed on the changes you indicated last time, about how your worlds’ being so much different than what we had come to know. It was nice to see the routines you have set-up … and especially for those who would consider boarding at your stable. Thanks for bringing us along!

I enjoy all your videos but ones like this are the best. I miss my days of having a horse, and to watch quiet routine care is so satisfying. Caring for my horse, hanging out, making improvements in her environment etc was just as good as riding for me. Thanks!

Matt and Jesse, by renting these stables, you can continue to keep this beautiful property alive and welcome horses in very comfortable spaces. The welfare of your horses and animals in general has always been a priority and you confirm that once again here. Your reputation is well established: two big hearts, efficient organization, hard work and the stable is complete! Congratulations! I hope Emporio's eye is healing. Thank you for this informative and very positive video 🐴🐴🐴👏🤗😍💙

Matt, with the eye ointment, put it on your (clean) finger and swipe it into the eye with your finger starting at the inner corner of the eye. You will have a much easier time, will waste less product and won't risk scratching the eye with the end of the tube.

Illness and age stopped my riding Matt, watching you care for all the horses, the sounds and familiarity of it are a huge comfort to me, it does sadden me a little that I've lost all this, but your superb care for all the horses in your responsibility is so beautiful to see. If only all horses had this respect!!! Your horses show how much they love and respect you both as well xx

Please be careful with running the clothes dryer. Dryer fires are very common. I have had one and it was quite scary. The lint builds up deep in the vent and is combustible. I never run my dryer now without being in my house. I always turn it off when I leave. I love your videos. They are very calm and informative.

I have stables planned to be built in the next year or two, absolutely NOTHING like this scale and perfection, but I'm already so excited to have my OWN stables at last (I'm 36 haha). I really LOVE having a routine and when I used to board my horses, I enjoyed bringing life into the places by introducing a coffee station and bringing a whiteboard for everyone to use. Little things to get people chatting and help them stay organised. I definitely miss the social aspect. If I had the room I'd probably have a boarder or two, but I sadly don't have the space on my current property. Maybe in a few more years we will upgrade, but for now I'm very excited just to have something of my own.

Love your videos! Couple of suggestions for this one? Start the dryer before you do the chores so it's done by the time you leave, so many dryer fires I never leave mine on and leave, you may have waited too and if so my apologies. Also picture putting the eye meds on the lower lid like eyeliner :)

It's nice to see how others approach operating a stable. The hand cart for hay is perfect. Who makes that one? The collector that holds the poop looks like a very smart option. So sorry to hear about the eye. Hopefully your efforts pay off and little concerns in future. Did wonder about wood chips over hay with dust right now. Always learning.. Appreciate you sharing and great news you have a waiting list. People trust your and Jess reputation❤

I have a tip For You Put the cream Into the I More Easily If You put on a Halter and shove your left hand through the Nose band and Shove Your Right hand Underneath The Band That's Running over his cheek you have got More control over the eye and Sometimes It will be more Easily To Hold The Tube with the cream In Your Right hand instead of your left. I have an Experience with a horse Which had to be Treated for 4 months 🙈

I think I heard you say you rent the barn I wish there were something like this where I live in California or I can rent. I would love to run my own stable. I have to Friesians they came from Friesland two years ago I’m always trying to figure out what supplements to give them. It’s very different from the USA to Europe you guys feel differently. Just curious any tips on some types of supplements Thank you again Matt it’s always enjoy watching your videos. Big love to you. ❤
