Matt, I hundred percent loved the horse I also 1000% loved the stable and the breeders. The fact that they were showing you half siblings full siblings and then the sire says to me that these people are dedicated to their program they’re interested in their program being successful in showing you the potential buyer as much of a picture as you can get on this horse that hopefully you get. I just think it’s a win-win situation for you so paws crossed.

Those stalls were small and depressing. I sure hope that they turn the horses out a lot so that they can have some natural time in a pasture instead of being stuck in those stalls all of the time. The don’t do much turn out in Spain because of the dry arid weather. The horses are used to it therefore un bothered.

@@Mazil_5 I went to a stable in Andalucia that had pastures with trees so the horses would have shades. But the pasture was without any grass (they had hay tho) and about the size of my horse's solo pasture for a small herd of 4-5 horses. It was better than stables I saw near Valencia where the horses were turned out in dry ground without any shade to take cover from the sun! Those breeds have been in that environment for centuries tho. I have a lusitano crossbred in a very green/wet region. It feels better for me to see him frolic in grass, but it also means skin conditions for him because he's not adapted to rainy environment.

I love that we have an example who is actually concerned about his height/weight on a horse. There are soooo many people that will argue it to no end, saying there is no weight limit or the weight limit is much higher than it actually is, or that height doesn't matter. It drives me nuts. So it's soooo nice to have someone educating people and being a good example

@@louisastone3510 Okay, I feel like I'm not the *best* person to answer this, but basically if you're too tall, it can throw your and your horse's balances off. You'll be top-heavy, and both you and the horse will be over compensating. For high level dressage, jumping, competition, etc., It becomes important that you don't have anything impeding you, and that you and your horse can perform as best as you can without something getting in the way

I was able to find KZbin videos of my horse's sire and instantly recognized the head carriage, body carriage, and gaits passed down from his papa! It's really crazy to see the mature potential right in front of you like that. Meeting the sire face to face and experiencing the manners and temperament really puts you at ease. Really is a game changer. He's a handsome fellow and I too prefer the wider stockier body style. You DON'T look out of proportion at all. You know what this means don't you??? He is quite a beauty! I hope the vet check goes well and you can bring him home soon. If you really are interested in breeding you should start looking for mares that have good pedigrees that would work well with your stallions. I got to visit my dream horse, Secretariat, a number of times while he was still alive. It was a very humbling experience to be in the presence of the greatest horse ever foaled. He was absolutely perfect and he knew it. He loved hearing the clicks of the cameras. He loved posing with his fans while having his picture taken. It was a thrill to be able to pet him and give him carrots and apples. I live in Lexington, Kentucky, the center of Thoroughbred horse breeding in the US. There are mares with their new babies in the pastures on either side of every road heading out of town this time of year. It is paradise. We even have a horse park that has museums, arenas, stables with numerous breeds, horse drawn trolleys, informative exhibits and movies. We even hosted the 2010 World Equestrian Games at the horse park. I was so disappointed that the rest of the world couldn't see how beautiful the Lexington area usually looks. We were in the midst of the worst drought in all the time I have lived in Kentucky (since 1978) and the grass was yellow and crinkly instead of lush and beautiful. I hope you get to visit the Lexington area some day. I think you would love it.

Liked his conformation, length from hip to hock, good turn of stifle good hind angulation whatever term you use. This gave him his lovely even harmonious movement. So good you saw other horses of different ages that were of the same bloodlines and seeing his sire as some lines change with age and some don't and your observant eye will have been taking that in that they stayed much the same or had a different look [ for example coarseness, thick through the jowl ] with maturity .

MATT U AND jesse have such an eye for this breed of horses. What u could do with this breed . I hope one day u take these 2 dynamic stallions and breed them into your mares and without the spainish input of how some of the breeders treat them during their young age the off-spring will have a better start than what we have seen. We are on your youtube alot just to repeadly watch these 2 horses . We were very glad u added Etro to your stable. Emporio is just off the charts but Etro has that it look and character. Matt, This bay stallion looked great. I was pleased to see his nice soft mouth with lots of foam and his really straight gaits (unlike the three year old brother who was paddling a bit with a front leg). How good to be able to see the bay stallion's sire and a number of the other home-bred PREs too. You also looked very good on this horse and it is clear that you have been working hard on your riding. The nicely rounded shape of the PRE helps them to look a little larger than other horses of the same height. Because of your height you don't want to look as if you are riding a pony - and you look fine on this well-built PRE. This is a good time for you to buy a horse that can develop with you as your riding appears to be improving 'by leaps and bounds' and you are now really becoming able to judge the horse's responses to your aids. I was also happy to see that you made sure that you had examined this horse without bandages, etc. As you already know, everyone isn't always as honest as you'd hope they would be when they are trying to sell you a horse and you are trying to decide which horse to buy. Getting both a local vet and your own vet to look at the x-rays was an excellent idea! Fingers crossed !

I have TWO pre's that move like warmbloods. it's insane one of them looks like a typical pre the other ist taller, thinner and doesnt look spanish at all. I'd argue they move far better than this one. but they're still young so not as trained or easy to ride

the stalls are like that because here the weather is extreme. this year, for example, we had +30º since mid may, and it will continue for all sumer. also, it's hard to grow green areas. in my stable, we ususally let horses go to the paddock at night (when it's coldest) and we collect them early in the morning before it becomes too dangerous to be outside. south spain (and almost all mediterranean countries) weather isn't like central - north europe. so, please, don't judge without knowing what's going on :)

His movement actually is scopey enough (would get superb under your tutelage!), and therefore your tall self does not look like you’re too big for him! So much potential there. Overal, he’s not higher behind looking, and he’s not too short coupled, just a lovely balance where you can bring out the “schwung” (swing in the back) with training. Crossing fingers for ya!!

Not to short or whatever. In my opinion it looks really good. He seems to be really kind and has a great personality and good movements, where you can work with... Wow. I like his three year old brother, too. What a beautiful color and great movements in my opinion. And the father of all is stunning beautiful, too. What a great breeding farm. Here and there it could be a little better with the way the stalls are looking and the size/wide of it. But it seems to be clean and the horses looked good. I just love the way you talk and explain things. It is so nice and easy to understand and you transport your feelings on that horse so well. I spent a year in Australia so I love the Australian accent anyway but your way of talking is also colorful - it doesn’t get boring and even when you just talk in front of the camera you know how to transport the pictures! Good luck with your vet check

I like this one as he seems a step up from Emporio which is always the way to go, this one is also very pretty. Now, before the final decision you need one impartial person to have a look and ground you a bit 🙃 , doesn't have to be Jesse (although I remember when you bought Sureno that you were a bit stressed that he had not had the chance to weigh in) so it might mean one more trip there before you sign on the dotted line just for perspective.
