Quality father and son time - nothing like it! It looks like you had a wonderful time and I really enjoyed your video!Just got back from camping with my own little Henry - except he is now an 18yo, 6'1" and 118kg tighthead prop - neither one of us would fit in that tent! All the best and thank you for sharing your adventures with Henry.
@CampingRulesOkay2 ай бұрын
Thanks so much 😁 that's one very big 'little Henry'! I'm guessing it won't be long before mine is bigger than me. He'll definitely be needing a bigger tent before then 😂

Great little adventure. Reminds me of when I used to take my boy out. It's so nice to see kids embracing the outdoors.

Thanks. My boys are proper outdoors types, just like their old man 😁💪

Cool gold hunting/wild camping video with Henry! And there's a free tent review in there - looks squishy, encourages sharing of body warmth if it gets chilly - although you look plenty warm enough! ☀
@CampingRulesOkay2 ай бұрын
Cheers Noah. Yeah, it was plenty warm enough with us both squished in there 😅

I spent a lot of time in places like this as a kid, as my dad was a amateur geologist and took me to quarries and mine workings to find stones....I learned to climb before I could walk! But I'll say one thing, be careful because if you hear anything slightly hollow back off, cos mine workings sometimes boarded up their old shafts and then it gets covered in earth and looks normal....
@CampingRulesOkay2 ай бұрын
Some good advice! We stayed well clear of the areas behind the shaft openings and stuck to the grounds between. But still, always gotta be vigilant 🫡

the eurohike was my first tent the eurohike tamar 2 like that but better i don,t know were they were goin with that one tago or something but it will get you out thats the main thing. im using a naturehike cloud peak 2 and oex bobcat now but still got the tamar 2 in green but its got a vestabuel on mine were your sons hasn,t get some midgie nets next time you go buddie there only cheap. the tamar 2 is a 2 skin tent free standing £25 in go outdoors and i have been in zero 5 winter camps in it and its 3000hh good tent waterproof aswell
@CampingRulesOkay2 ай бұрын
It's definitely a good little starter tent for the price paid. Henry loves it! I'll be sticking to my own tent for now but I'm hoping to design and build my own bivvy soon as I prefer that to a tent. Which do you like best? The cloud peak 2 or the bobcat?

What an absolutely beautiful camp with family as it should be, unfortunately it always seems to rain in the Lake District but still a great time Moley- btw it's Jason Calabrese I changed my username etc.
@CampingRulesOkay2 ай бұрын
Cheers Jason 👍 it was a lot of fun, even though the weather turned at the end. I was still getting over a nasty flu too but I wasn't gonna let that stop us getting out for our adventure! 💪

@CampingRulesOkay hey Moley I'm sorry about the rioting going on but that's the same problem we have here also

@Blitzkrieg1324 thankfully I haven't been affected by those so all is good. It's a shame that sort of thing happens and I feel for the people who are affected. Hope you're doing well?

Could be gold, could be pyrite....it's hard to tell, ores can look like silver (lead) or gold (iron pyrites)
@CampingRulesOkay2 ай бұрын
True. I'm completely clueless about identifying this stuff but Henry thinks it's gold and that's good enough for me. It's certainly more precious than gold either way. As a reminder of our father/son adventure it's priceless 😄

Yeah rain is one thing, high 40's-50's wind, nope. Even in a good tent that can be brutal and an exposed locaton? I'd bail,
