Dan, the thing is, you’ll have people leave and people come. Like me! I only found you after 2020. And now I try to never miss an episode since I really enjoy your personality, the information, equipment, etc. Don’t worry about the critics.

I think it is very easy to overdo camo. Being dressed as a soldier will only bring more attention regardless where you are. Plain dark coloured hiking/bushcraft trousers and a plain green woolen jumper will help you blend in and not look conspicuous. Camo is useful to stop you been seen from the sides. Not much point putting it on a tarp that is already camo style. A good idea with camo is to keep it a little bit away from the tent/tarp. If it is all on top of each other it can be more conspicuous. so camo doesn't always blend in with it surroundings even if you are in a wood. In the video there was some green leaf trees that actually clashed with the camo. A black bag rather than a camo back will draw less attention. If you want to avoid light slipping out at night may be worth looking at a cover sheet for tent/tarp. It should prevent some light slippage. A headlamp with a red light will be less conspicuous. A wind cover for the cooking set will prevent the fire been seen. Good video. Keep it up.

Top video as always Dan really enjoyed it, one little idea when you do another stealth camp is to take the camera far back and show how stealth it looks from a distance, that would be good to see👍

Stop worrying about what others think. 40k subscribers, you are doing something right! I watch 4 main channels, yours, funny and good equipment and food reviews, haze outdoors, again funny and good tips, messner, good equipment reviews and wild beare, she knows what she is doing and really pushes herself and a dam sight more attractive than you three! 😁. Lots of people doing it now but you guys have a certain personality that people enjoy watching. Keep them going.

I have watched so many camping type channels that I can't keep count of them but I have settled on 4 that I always watch. Yours is one of them. I can't presume to understand how KZbin works with their algorithms but I am glad that people are able to post videos like yours or we would have never met you. I think you said you've been doing this 7 years, maybe I'm wrong but that's a very long time to come up with new ideas every week or so. KZbin did give you this opportunity but that's it. You have your number one love, your family and your number 2 love, camping. KZbin didn't give you that, you brought it with you. So getting a plaque or trophy from your wife is so much better then anything KZbin can offer. And for me and my family, it's your love of camping that keeps us coming back. It doesn't have to be anything new and exciting or whatever, it's you and your gear (and your pals) that we come here for. Keep on enjoying your love of camping hun, that's all that matters.

Great video mate, as a serving soldier my stealth set up is a British army basha using bungees with a British army bivi bag and my RAB 3 season down bag with a foam roll mat with a inflatable mat on top of it. I pitch either A frame or a simple lean too depending on the ground, I always set up at last light if I can depending on what I’m doing and nothing above waist height regarding the basha height. Army ration packs have improved but those seed bars are tooth breakers 😂 I use tabasco source to add flavour to the meals . Jet boil flash is my go to stove 👍🏻 Cam nets are rats, I never use them when I’m camping. Keep up the great videos mate, don’t worry about others mate, you will never please everyone 👍🏻💪🏼 atb Pete

I think the camo net is definitely good to use for stealth. Because it has depth and texture it’s better than just a camo pattern tarp or tent Also want to comment about new KZbinrs coming along and taking interest away from your channel. I don’t think that will happen. I and lots of others enjoy your videos not just for the camping itself, but because of your honest, down to earth attitude, great perspective, and easy going nature. Others can’t replicate your personality, which is one of the things that makes you popular. There’s only one English Woodsman

About camo-nets. It is ok to use those if you are willing to carry the extra weight. But if using, then use them the right way. Break the silhuet of the thing you are using to hide. Make straight lines a bit rounder. Use sticks and branches for that. Straight line over a paracord is like a "that is man made!". Break the silhuet...

Do you know Dan, you brought back some memories for me here. I was brought up in the 50's/60's and correctly teachers did give us beatings. I went to an all girl's school when we had full uniforms, including, yes, straw boaters and winter hats, up to 14 yes old. We had the strap and cane and needless to say, I was on the headmistress' radar at least once a week for the strap. Again, yes, when I got home with strap marks across my palms, you know the answer 🤣😭. Too funny now.

It’s good to be out with mates, but when I go for a cheeky stealth camp it’s to get away from people. Just be alone in the wilderness. So I guess if we got the right to roam, I’d still be a stealth camper. Plus it’s a bit of childhood fun, hiding yourself away. Being somewhere secret that’s just for you. I always love hearing people pass (not too) close by and knowing that they don’t know I’m there. But of relaxation, but of a thrill - bit of back to basics. Them’s the ingredients for a proper stealth camp!

I like it simple because no one knows I'm there. No one bothering me just peace and quiet. Stealth camping is like hunting , get behind some greenery of any type. It helps to break up your camps silhouette. Then use the camo to help your camp blend in with the surroundings. If you have planned it right you should also have some taller bushes form where a person would be looking. Anything to help break up your camps horizontal lines since they are not natural in the woods. Here in the States the Bushwhack Camo Tarps from Warbonnet Hammocks works for me.

I do agree with you that everything, eventually, comes to an end. However, with yt and being a subscriber, I/we are able to pick and choose what we enjoy watching. We are all individuals and different in many ways and similar in many ways. I, personally, began watching yt almost exclusively over television when the US shut down for the big C. I began working at home, on the computer, every day. I setup my desk with 2 monitors; one for work, one for watching yt and other streaming services. I found your channel during the shutdown. I enjoy your channel very much. I enjoy it for a few different reasons. Unless your content offends me, which I don't believe it ever will, I will stay a subscriber. I now have my husband watching your channel and our daughter and grandson watching too. I enjoyed this video; stealth camping, chatting with us, testing the rations, sharing your opinion of the sleeping bag, the large tarp, etc. I hope your channel continues to grow. Its enjoyable, educational and relaxing.

Apart from admiring a man who can wax philosophical while having a grain of rice balanced on his right eyebrow.... about camouflage. As a former NCO instructor on the topic first of all accept you can't hide from people walking by closely; you will be seen eventually. So long as they aren't actually looking for you, often just staying still does the job. And don't look at them; people sense when they are being watched. As for camo nets; I hate them. Faff machines. They scream premeditation; you are obviously aware you are not supposed to be doing this so makes it harder to talk your way out if sprung. Better to set up the tarp then drop it until after dark. Set it up in daylight with a quick release knot, then drop it... unless you need it for shelter in which case fewer people are moving around anyway. I wouldn't bother carrying a net, just keep a low profile with the tarp. No light, no sound, no movement... but then ask why are you doing this? I stealth camp so I am not bothered by other people, time on my own but not time spent bored or scared of discovery. Worse time is insertion and extraction to your harbour area. Enter the cover away from your chosen spot and circle around, coming back on your path but off to one side so you can spot any tails. Have fun.

I would not 'full on' stealth camp, but I would try to camp a little stealthily or discreetly, if that makes sense? Just to minimise my visual impact on the environment, all part of 'leave no trace', and so as not to spoil someone else's beautiful view with a dayglo tent stuck in the middle of it. And as you say, it's fun 👍

I think in the summer months it's a better option to camp using a tarp as it can be a lot cooler and give you the option of a lot more room. I'm yet to try it as I don't have the gear yet, but hopefully I will before the summer turns to winter 🥶 Great video btw 👌 👍

Hi pal! I like you little rant about subs, numbers and rubbish like that and glad you said you dont care too much about all that. Family and being outdoors comes first and its true. I will be a father soon so I hope I can relate to that. I do want to start making videos as well and go out whenever possible like you. Got my Trekker 1.0 seem great, but its a tent so its 'easy'. Always wondered about bivis and how they would work if taking for a few days walking trip. Not sure got to hide or where to store my backpack, boots etc seems like tart to go with it is good idea but then carrying both and you need trees to send up seems a bit difficult. Maybe one day I will try. Got speedster alcohol stove to try also, dont want to use noisy gas stoves all the time. Anyway I live in Scotland, I know it easier, sucks you need to hide, steal camp in England. Government rules sucks bit time and those idiots dont let us do too much as always but nevermind. Cheers from Edinburgh. Regards
