Raise Rear Wheel. No Bike Stand

Raise the rear wheel of your bicycle without a bike stand while only using household items. This is useful in any repair where you will need the pedals, chain, and rear wheel to spin freely.
In my case, I had to adjust the indexing on my front and rear derailleurs.

fucking genius...i was trying to find a piece of rope that would work and then find a place where I could hang the bike from the ceiling, using the seat as the hanging point...but I would have to search for the type of knots to use, find some rope, then find a spot where I could hang my bike while doing the adjusting, all while avoiding getting robbed for my bike....i like this much better.

I used to let the bike stand upside down, the saddle and the dropbar being the contact points on the floor.

I used a walking stick. It holds on the seat and lifts the bike up.
