I use the park tool deluxe bike stand. I figured since i was given the bike i could splurge on a stand and some tools. I also figured since i was given the bike i would probably have plenty of tasks revolving around them. The trek remedy i was given has now passed on to my father as a means of getting him into riding and improving his heart health. Ive gotten it running nice and smooth. People turning to look at me when i ride by often look 5 feet behind me and are suprised to see me right behind them because i roll so quietly. I now use the stand on my specialized roubaix. The mountainbike was nice, but ive always felt the calling of the road bike. I can always borrow the mtb and do intend on replacing it eventually. Me giving my dad the mtb came on the heels of some bad heart news for him at the same time i was switching bikes. Im hoping to get in some rides with him, but i want to make sure he gets a bike computer 1st, to monitor his body while he rides.

I have the sportneer. Took the rubber ends off the aluminum tubes then filled them with ball bearings. It will hold a 29er e mtb with battery. No wobble, fully adjustable.

Thank you - I really appreciate your instructional videos. As far as bike stands, I have found a $200 Park stand to be a good investment. It leans in the corner folded. When I come back from an muddy Oregon ride, I clean my bike while it is on the car rack. Then I easily set up my stable stand and go to work with no wobble or risk of tipping or slipping. I am 69yrs old and my stand is one which will last a lifetime - and it just works and is stable! Yes, cheap stands have a place, but no longer in my garage.

Haha perfect video. I've currently got a cheap one without the quick release thing and it's annoying having to screw it in and out. The lack of cam and ratchet also makes it so regardless of angle, the front of the bike always slopes down. Better than nothing but I want better. Haha glad to see I'm not the only one who finds these issues annoying.

Pro tip: put carbon grip compound on rotating tubes within the clamps of the red stand, so it will hold a wierd angle! (Works for me :D) with a 15kg mtb.

The cheap Aldi stand (similar to the second one in this video) is great. I've used mine for 4 years now. As I usually work with steel vintage mixte frames, I just put a plastic garden chair under the front or rear wheel to compensate for the slinding down of the frame.

Just bought a cheap, all aluminium Chinese knockoff (copy) of the basic Feedback tripod stand off an Alibaba type site. $60 delivered. Even the clamp head is anodized red! Extremely happy with it in manufacturing quality, strength (it will hold my 14kg mtb at any angle), and value for money. Edit, its virtually identical to your Topeak stand, inc the small teeth for angle adjustment, and no h/bar stabiliser rod, nor tooltray. But hey, its a Feedback stand for 60 bucks... Those 2 other cheapies are sold throughout the world under different brand names inc Aldi and Lidl supermarkets as yearly specials. Great vid as always...

@@slugrider sorry, mine came via Lazada, a Thai sort of Ebay. But i have seen them on Amazon and Alibaba. Look for something with a red anodized aluminium 90 degree clamp, just like the Feedback stands.

I have an earlier version of the blue bike stand. Bought off A New Zealand website and had it delivered to Australia 15 years ago. I doesn’t have the wing nuts that you have problems with but a rectangular nut that is integrated into the stand’s plastics you can tighten the knobs with one hand. With regards to the sagging problem, I’ve found that cutting a piece of tyre inner tube and using it like a sleeve over the pole, it will provide greater friction and most bikes will stay at the angle you want. Im still using my stand to this day and it hasn’t let me down. Best $60AUD ever spent.

I bought a Minoura stand nearly 30 years ago, and it's been great - all-steel construction, really stable, easy clamping system. I've never needed anything else.

I have been using the Feedback Sports Pro Elite for several years now, and find it superb for all functions that you assessed. Mine has a tray for parts, and a very nice storage bag as well. It fits quite nicely into your car if you want to bring it with you.

In France we had a version of your cheapest stand with an handlebar holder and a better construction for less than $30. It also hold e-bike up to 30kg. I also have the lightest stand of your test. Just put a feet on it and it's more stable. 😁 And I had it with an handlebar holder for $75 in a french marketplace.

@@shanehansen2141 Park is not the only brand, it took me almost 2 months looking at classified ads to find a solid one that looks like a pro stand, bare metal, I suppose the brand was on a sticker, I got it for 30 €. The foot is like a V with a base, or V underscored... excellent for stability. It's not foldable though, although with Allen keys I could unmount everything.

I have the stand that is called Sportneer (its called something else in the US) and I've had it fall over when I bumped it, but never with the bike on it. I put together my Bianchi and I took apart an Old Trek 1220 and neither fell over.

I've had a Park consumer stand for over 20 years and love it. It was a bit pricey but well worth it. Very stable, very solid grip, very adjustable, really no complaints. When I'm not using it to work on the bike I use it as an elevated bike stand, so it's really two tools in one. My basic rule is try to get something good and somewhat better than what you think you need. You'll appreciate it over time.

I got the park tool deluxe bike stand. It works really nice. I do see some better mounting heads i might prefer, but they are really meant for those throwing many bikes in the stand every day. All in all, im really happy with my purchase. It has made working on the bike much more comfortable. I prefer to be my own bike mechanic as much as possible, I find it therapeutic, and it allows me to place better parts on the bike for a similar cost. Not that im counting, I just need a scapegoat!

you did a great job with this comparison & review. the silver one is definitely the best value. it looks like it uses the rubber inserts type Park Tool uses. I had a Topeak Prepstand, I agree with you. but the one I have does not have the handle, only has a knob, it's horrible to use. With a trail or enduro bike the arm sags down s when you put the bike in straight it will be tilted after it sags, and the stand can easily flip over if you hit the legs on it. a lot of play too, way over prices, horrible value. it was only a temporary solution as I needed it and could not find a stand, I upgraded to Park Tool PRS3.2-2

I use one like the blue one but hold the bike by the frame and not the seatpost . Mine is ment to support 50kg and seems to hold my heavy arse ebike when you balance it properly and the holding post has a better tightener than the one you show so i can do it by one hand . My ebikes bloody heavy with a rear hub motor and 60v 30ah battery . Mine was 60 bucks delivered . Its the first stand ive ever bought and i like the 4 legs for stability .

I have a local branded version of that gearox, it is quite useful for amateurs like me who want not only to wash the bike comfortably but to do some work of the bike at home. The only difference is the version I have has nuts at the end, so it doesn't slips like the one you do and it's easier to adjust and clamp bikes, totally worth the price.

I own the cheapest one and I've bought it here in The Netherlands at the tools firm HBM Machines for 50 euro. Your 2nd bike stand, a similar one is available at Action (their online shop) for just 35 euro's (yes the Dutch chain of cheap shops, of which you have now so many in Poland)

Strength of theeth depends on sum of area of teeth x radius not on the size. If OD of theeth is approx the same , see ID of the teeth portion. OD-ID represents area.

You should try the Crivit bike stand from the Lidl, it looks like the mix of the two cheapest with the clamp of the 3rd one. The angle adjustment by the way still not the best, but I think thats just because its made for top tube mounting. If you mount with the top tube you can play with the balance.

Lidl or Aldi do a great stand for €30apprx. Adjusting knob nuts are recessed don't turn as you twist the knob

Always clamp the bike while on the ground then raise the bike off the ground. Work smart not hard. The magnet in the tray is good for keeping screws and other small magnetic parts from being lost.

Just got Roces rc100 for USD70. So far serve my need for home use within my budget. Easy to keep when folded. Stand Wt - 5.9 kg and max bicycle wt 27 kg , more than enough to serve my need. The repair stand comes with tool tray and adjustable stabiliser rod. But I find the rod a hussle to use. May be need to get use to. Overall value for money.

I choose sportneer stand it has a good review & Clint Gibbs reviewed it on 2019 & don’t see any problems using it on my full suspension bike. Nice quality mid range price between cheap & expensive.

Yes that one is good.. For Asia Market they call it ROCES instead of sportneer. Just colour is a bit different champagne gold + black. Sportneer is silver + black Is all the same coming from China. The price is 70 USD including shipment.

Even on the cheapest ones the bike won't rotate and on the expensive ones the teeth won't break if you hang it on the balance point so that the center of mass isn't too far out, only if you hang it on the seatpost like you did on the first one it will rotate. Better hang it in the middle of the frame where the center of mass for your corresponding angle is located, then you can do everything with the cheap one (Lidl had a similar one for 15€)

I think it's very hard to tell others how this stand is or is not better for someone. While you can explain what you like or dislike, you have no idea how someone else might use it. Are they only taking care of one bike? Is it a family of bikes or is it someone that rides a lot and has several bikes? And what if it is a shop? I have done all of the above, and think that a stand is one of the most important tools you can have. A good stand will hold the bike where you want it, it will be able to rotate if necessary, and the company will offer parts if you should need them. It's also something that you buy once, unless you simply want another.

having to re set the seat post height of every customers bike is not always the fastest way. for professionals we consider both speed and effectiveness, and if something is just as effective and faster we will use it

Clamping to the seat post is the worst possible position if you are working with your bike level! It's perfectly fine to clamp it to the frame, although you might have to be careful with fragile carbon frame, but only if the position is not equilibrated or if you tighten the clamp too much (is it even possible),
