Uncle Jeff got some piggy tattoos. That happens when you have livestock. When I dismantle old buildings I think about their history. I think about the special or maybe not so special things that could have happened in them. Thanks for sharing Cole, hope Mom and Dad had a great vacation.

I used to raise and show registered Duroc's a long time ago. They were my FFA project all thru high school, and I had them some years after that.... Isn't it nice that Deere got smart and made that a dry cavity for switching the PTO? We always drove the front end down in a ditch so we wouldn't make a mess on back of the tractor when we switched the pto shafts on the 30, 40, and 50 series.

The old Farmstead barn in ND had seen one too many storms & wasn't habitable after 150 years so one summer when we all gathered, my Dad and my Hubby pulled it down. Mom had to go into the house to shed her tears, I stayed outside with the remnants, all choked up. Later that fall, after we'd left to our own homes out of state, the folks negotiated with the volunteer fire department to come burn the pile. The wood to the old chicken coop is still in a pile, I found a board from a shipping crate in the pile, with my Great-grandpa's name. Took it back to California & had it custom framed for my Mom. It's tuff having to say good-bye, no matter the reason.
