In this video, we explore severe weather threats across the United States and track Tropical Storm John approaching southern Mexico. We'll discuss the potential for strong thunderstorms from the Ozarks to the Appalachians, as well as John's risk of rapid intensification and the dangers it poses to Mexico, including heavy rainfall and flash flooding. Stay tuned for crucial updates on both these developing weather situations.

Same here. Last week I prepared for some high winds here in NC, but nothing happened. There were times when a storm came "out of nowhere" and I wasn't prepared. So I'd rather be safe than sorry, too.

Same here, but I'm an old hand at hurricanes. Sometimes people get stuck in an evacuation and nothing happened and then feel they shouldn't evacuate on the next one. But please don't do that. I went through Alesha in 83 and there had been an earlier threat and people stayed. We lost lives that didn't need to be lost. Take every storm or threat very seriously.

@waltblackadar4690
@waltblackadar4690 Сағат бұрын
@@daytonsouthall1137 The problem in FL is the type of tornados we get spin up very quickly and are gone just as fast. We don't get the isolated supercell, long-track tornados you see in the Midwest and South. Ours come from hurricanes or other disturbances where they're very difficult to see even on radar until they're down. Then they're up just a couple of minutes later. So I hear ya - it's no fun when one blows by - but (1) they're unpredictable; (2) they're quick and (3) they generally are EFO and EF1s (with exceptions) and therefore really don't do much damage to homes that are built to withstand EF5 hurricanes.

I had to flee Tyndall AFB in 2018 during Hurricane Michael. The damage was horrendous. They are still rebuilding. It has been almost 6 years to the day 😢

I'm watching from NC, specifically the Hickory area and I really don't like how close the NE side of the storm is getting to my area. I'm gonna be keeping my eye on the updates and tracks because I do NOT want to have to deal with tornadoes off this hurricane. Ryan, you and your team always have a way of helping me feel a lot better even in the worst scenarios. I'll be watching every video for yhe rest of this week. Thank you for your service. Y'all deserve nobel prizes for these humanitarian efforts.
