Everyone is talking about raising Titanic, but what about Britannic? She is not deep and in good condition. I think raising her wreck is way more possible.
@Loooooooogan1
@Loooooooogan1 14 күн бұрын
Yes, we might be able to raise her, but she isn’t as popular as the Titanic and people mostly leave out the Britannic, plus, there’s way more people that love the Titanic and want it back. The reason why we haven’t done anything with the Britannic is because it is mostly forgot due to its lack of popularity. People will pay hundreds of millions of dollars to see the Titanic, but people rarely visit the Brttianic. Plus, there’s no big Brittanic museums like they due with the Titanic.

The vasa sat in much shallower water, and the mud covering it preserved it and the water didn’t have eating wood eating bacteria. The titanic would crumble, it’s settled in the depths and the pressure difference would make the ship disintegrate. (And it’s best to let it rest as over 100 people died there.)
@Dino_dude474

We should try to recover as many artifacts as possible. It is not a mass grave, there are no bodies down there anywhere. The animations would suggest that Titanic is lying there in one piece. This of course is not true. The ship broke in two as it was sinking, and there are now probably a million individual pieces lying on the ocean floor. Still an interesting video.
@Funtimetrenten
@Funtimetrenten Ай бұрын
There are no bodies because they rotted away before we found it. We found it 85 years after it sunk which is long enough for a corpse to disappear plus the crushing depths of the ocean down there, many still consider it a grave site for those 1500+ lost souls that fateful night.

The Titanic is far too fragile to ever even try to raise. Getting it to the surface intact would be a task and then keeping it from crumbling once it hit air would also be highly difficult. The Vasa was a wooden ship that was sunk under different circumstances and waters so like the video said you can't compare it to the Titanic. We have lots of artifacts and needs to be left as it is.

The titanic is far too brittle to bring back up to the surface (and it would be a nightmare to do so as well, even if she wouldn't fall apart), but the Titanic is a graveyard for around 1400 people, and a piece of history that should be left alone. Expeditions to the titanic to get a greater understanding on how the incent occurred (on top of survivor testimonies) have been the closest and should be the closest way for humans to see the titanic again and study it. Expeditions to collect belongings of deceased passengers and return it to their family, as well as recovering items that belonged to the ship (such as clocks or whatever else) are very nice, but everything else should be left to how it was when the disaster took place. May the deceased rest in peace with one of the prettiest steamer ships ever to be made.

The reason why they were able to raise a 300 year old ship and not a 110 year old ocean liner is because 1.titanic is made of mainly metal which means it will rust and disintergrate not to mention the crushing pressure of the water 2.wodden ships (depending on the temperature of the water) can last a long time being preserved by the water 3.The titanic is not intact, ut is in many pieces, especially the stern. It slammed into the seabed and broke into many parts like the bow also did but stayed more intact.

Seriously, as a Titanic geek since 10 years old, I thought leave it alone as it's a grave, but as stated, there are no remains and there never will be. Around 340 actual bodies were recovered. The swift currents with high wind took the bodies away. I think they should take as much as they can to restore it (not the ship itself) so that the Titanic will live on as she will not be there much longer.

Yes but it’s different right if a timber boat sinks in a area where it doesn’t have a lot of pressure or bacteria and at the right temp it’ll stay in good Nic but with a steel ship it’s harder because if you try and pull it up with anything it could potentially go right through but with enough thought it could maybye happen but it’s very very unlikely

One the Ship is not in one peace. The Bow is falling apart. The Keel is broken from slamming into the ocean Floor. The last thing is the state of the ship is so bad that you would be bring it up in peaces. The Stern is just a wreck all by it self. From what new theory says on its way down to the ocean floor it tore it self apart, and when it hit the ocean floor in pan cake on top of it self. Sadly the stern is probably easier to bring to the surface because it's just layers of stacked rusting steel at this point. So no the Titanic will never see the light of day as the whole ship. In peaces maybe, but very unlikely. As for bringing artifacts back. Yes with the caveat that it is never to be sold off. That it is for the world to see. The last is my opinion.

While I agree it may sound hypocritical to say this. But have you not read the news? Most of the bones and artifacts plundered in such digs are being repatriated back to the countries and descendants they originated from. Even the artifacts of the various tribes who once lived in America before the British colonized it are receiving human remains back that were illegally taken long ago. The reason is simple, because it's immoral. It shouldn't have been done. How would you feel if your bones, your belongings, even your casket were put on display in a museum centuries after you were buried? If you're anything like me, I'd want to rest in peace. The Titanic broke in 2. The stern wrecked itself on the way down. The bow dug itself 60 feet into the ocean floor.

This is also impossible. The structural integrity has been warped and compromised too far. Not to mention the catastrophic damage the bow suffered when it hit the sea floor at high velocity. The aft section is in even worse shape, not only is it at a far distance from the bow, but it's literally in pieces of scrap. Even if you were to add a new aft section, even if you were to patch up and reinforce what's left of the bow. All the wood is basically paper or sludge now. The rivets holding the metal together were a massive design flaw, they would literally break off if the bow was moved. Causing it to just fall apart and collapse like the aft section did a century ago when it first sank. You might ask how did the aft section suffer so much catastrophic damage compared to the bow section? That's because there wasn't any heat shielding from the engine room. When the ice berg hit, the engines had superheated the Iron and the rivets. This caused the superstructure between the aft and bow to catastrophically snap like a flip phone. The bow sank gracefully at high velocity and pancaked on the sea floor. The aft sank much later, plunging at high velocity... But the moment it hit a certain depth, it quite literally imploded like a submarine. All the air blew the entire aft section apart like a grenade, sending pieces everywhere before it hit the ground. Now all that's left of that section is bulk of Iron scrap that used to be the sides of the aft section. And of course the boilers/engines of the Titanic, which are moderately intact depending on how you look at them.

Of course it's impossible, but it's not a grave site. There are no bodies there anymore. They should recover any artifacts they possibly can.
