My dream is to move to Cairns and have a small farm (5 acres) for my children to be raised in the nature. Last year I was lucky to get a great job offer in Cairns but I had to reject it because couldn't find a house to rent and we couldn't afford to buy over there, I was so sad😢 but I don't loose hope, we have moved to Nhulunbuy and we are saving every penny to buy a farm in Cairns!

Happy new year!! 🥳🥳🥳I bet you can't 😁😁😁Do you get snow?
@petermartijnheite-bauwens1632 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking. No unfortunately we didn't get any snow for a couple of years due to the climate change i guess. We have a cold week now for about -3 C and the hard winds make it feel -10 or more. but now temperatures are slowly rising to 6 or 7 C. The long dark days are so overwhelming right now and i wish it was spring already. I watch your channel because i like farming and tropical gardening. The most delicious fruits and healthy things that you guys can grow is a fun looking thing for me. I am from the Netherlands and we don't have that special types of fruits and veggies that you can grow. I try to grow oranges lemons and other types of citruses it grows but slowly. But it is fun. Great to hear from you guys i love to talk with people from all over the world.@@vintagefoodfarm

Love your video. Can’t wait to move to Cairns in a few years time and get away from Northern Brisbane and get into to quite life. Can’t wait to grow food and bring all my plants up north. Any ideas on good country areas close to Cairns? Thanks and love to enthusiasm. 👍
@vintagefoodfarm Жыл бұрын
Oooo exciting!!!😁 It is very fun getting into growing food because it is sooooo easy!😊There are so many country areas around Cairns! Basically North, South and West. We are just West just up the range so it is a bit cooler and dryer than down in town. Inland from Kuranda in Speewah. There are so many places I wouldn't know where to start but we love Speewah😊 Myola is good too.......so many places😁thanks so much for saying hi. So happy you like the videos!!! 😁

Hi Debbie, I am wanting to start a garden Bed with herbs and veggies. I don’t have any experience, I like the veggies you use, I think they will survive the NT weather but I don’t know how to start and where
@vintagefoodfarm7 ай бұрын
Awesome!!!🥰 Do It!😊It is so fantastic to grow your own food and with the NT climate you can do it really easily. Here is a video on the raised garden beds - kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4Ksh4OVidBph6M .YES the same plants will grow in the NT😁 This is the playlist for all of the gardening videos - kzbin.info/aero/PLmjITDUt5eiQovKzIS9nyfNWmpcwYHN5C Good luck and have fun!

Hi there ! I have a question about culantro - mine keeps turning yellow. Does this ever happen to yours ? It seems to grow so well in your raised beds ! Thank you for your videos. So much information!
@vintagefoodfarm10 ай бұрын
It doesn't happen to us up here😁 It could be cold temperatures, too much water (or not enough drainage) or not enough sun. Where do you live?
@chiarad408010 ай бұрын
@vintagefoodfarm Thanks for your reply. I live in the Caribbean so it's always between 26 and 30 C. I might be overwatering it. And I've moved it to a shadier spot, just to see if that helps ! :)

hello Im planing a trip to Cambodia but the only thing i dont know is about the monkeys i really wanna see all the monkeys there. could you tell me where there are wild monkeys or just places with alot of monkeys thats the main reason im flying to Cambonia. any places with wild monkeys everywhere. thank you
@vintagefoodfarm Жыл бұрын
The best place is the rocks and gardens between the Bayon temple and the Old Royal Palace at Angkor Archaeological Park near Siem Reap. You will see more monkeys than you can believe. They will approach you though and you do need to be cautious because they are wild. They are so cute!!!!! You are going to love it!🐒🙈🙉🙊🐵🥰

Hi there ! What did you use to make the sides of your raised beds ? How long do you expect them to last ? We are hoping to make our own soon but expect steel would rust and wood would rot. I'd value your experience with the ones you have !
@vintagefoodfarm11 ай бұрын
We got them made from Colourbond steel, which is rust proof, at a local sheet metal fabricator. They will last 20 years or more. Wood will rot and get eaten by termites😁Have fun!
