Looks like you misunderstood a few things. Sadhguru in his third last and second last life time was called as Shivayogi. It was then when his guru met him and put him on the job. He tried in that life time but failed so came back as Sadhguru Shri Brahma in his last life time. He tried his best tom complete the project but due to mishandling of social circumstances, the work could not be completed. So then he planned the social circumstances in advance. He put his disciples in certain places to be born in certain wombs.(Because Sadhguru knows all past, present and future as we all places, here or anywhere and he is present in his energy form everywhere in this cosmos) And also he decided when and where to be born. Everything happened according to his plan. And when he remembered his enlightenment, he went to all the people individually and reminded them of their past life and the mission. That process along with other preparation took 18 years and then 3.5 years for consecration. One thing that is not mentioned in this story is that he also tried to change his body in last life (There was a young enlightened yogi who got enlightened very early but no one took him seriously so that yogi chose to leave his body and attained mukti. Sadhguru left his own body and entered that yogi's body) and tried to finish the work, but that also didn't work.

I think dhyanalinga is relatively new symbol created by Sadhguru, whereas Shivalinga has been a traditional symbol of Lord Shiva for centuries. Dhyanalinga is focused on inner transformation and spiritual growth, the Shivalinga is associated with Lord Shiva's creative energy and is often worshipped for its ability to grant blessings and fulfill desires.

On 29th August 2004 I was blessed by Sadhguru to visit 7th Hill of Velliangiri Mountains. There I was standing with more than 15 people including a Brahmachari of Isha and when we were chanting On Nama Shivaya and suddenly a funnel of rain came down upon us and just for few seconds, like Ganga flown from heaven and I really experienced the high spiritual energy there. That was a real blessing by Sadhguru. At that time Sahdguru was physically present in USA and not in Isha Yoga Center.

I have been there 6 years ago , but before that for 3 years I had seen so many videos of Sadguru on KZbin and had got attracted towards him and wanted to visit. But after visiting there I could able to understand that it needs lot of dedication to gain that capacity to walk that road. But I still feel like I have the seed sowed in me which always keeps me connected to thought to always come back to it. I don’t feel simply being there might not suddenly give us a eye opener or enlightened, you need to prepare yourself to walk that path. Since I am from near by place so had got chance to visit. I visited there again to bow down there. I am going to visit Dhyanalinga again this year. Shivlingas can be consecrated in different ways. Dhyanalinga is consercrated in a special way so that it has all secen chakras energised. It almost took Sadhguru's life, he did that for humanity, he aged real fast during the process of Dhyanalinga consecration.

Kundalini awakened in him, it needs strong spiritual foundation otherwise the practitioner would collapsed, kundalini isn't a child play thing, that's very very dangerous energy 👈 those who have material mud in their mind and try to awake kundalini would destroy him.

So what they basically are trying to is I need to write book because I cannot explain in KZbin comment section, lady's tears and guy's concentration deserve some answer so am making an effort here - In yogic culture lord Shiva is called adiyogi -> First and supreme teacher. So they(yogis) are making effort to bring him to take some form again so that world can learn from him directly. Human's die so they want to integrate Shiva into a lingam loosely translates to a sign. So that he can emenate energy through limgam. Its not trapping a man into body or stone but giving energy a way. Example - Electricity is same but appliances can be many fan, ac, refrigerator etc. and if the fan stops working that does not mean that electricity is gone. Bring another fan and it will work, or replace it with a television and it will still work. Remember, when you die what leaves your body is aatman. Aatman/Aatma has some memory of the past life specially trauma, very happy moments etc. and sometimes whole life is impressioned on aatman and based on that impression aatma chooses body. If trauma was huge or something awakens/incident accident etc. your impression you remember past life. Hence reincarnation, this is this reason you are taught to forgive and forget. If you are fulfilled satisfied released aatma will have no direction and hence will be still and hence will integrate with parabrahma. Liberation etc.etc. Now coming back to topic - like all appliance has specific purpose, all devices in this category are called Shiva Linga. And each one has different purpose. This one is called Dhyanlinga hence puts you in deep meditative sleep there by giving you access of pure energy so you can learn all at once.
