One of the more memorable experiments we got to do in botany class was to grow plants in different soil samples. You could tell what sorts of the plant nutrition was missing from a soil sample by how the plants displayed the malnourishment. You can see it in nature once you've learned about it.

Anyone with a small bit of land should consider growing some of their own food, by cultivating the soil in their yard using kitchen and plant waste, and avoiding chemical/synthetic fertilizers. If you ask anyone who does this, they will all say that their home grown food is richer in flavor that what you get from the market. Just try it , it brings much joy to grow and eat your own vegies. Plenty of channels on youtube to help you get started with growing your own vegie garden. I started growing food on my patio in growing bags 2 years ago, and had great success. This spring I am putting a raised bed in my back-yard and also started composting from kitchen waste. It's going to be great!

Thanks for this! I understand why it feels like "another thing we have to ask our governments" but we have to be careful when we compare what to dedicate our resources to (like time, energy, attention), because some options have a vastly higher impact than others because of how fundamental they are. If we categorize them as equal to others, we will dedicate the same amount of resources to all the options we have. Saving our agricultural soil can help ensure food and water security, store massive amounts of carbon (reversing climate change), and avoid soil erosion. So it is a way more efficient use of resources than other options. Notice that we specifically say "agricultural" soil because that's the one we tend to every day. And they are also proposing to change policies in this direction so that suffering doesn't happen from having changed too quickly. And finally, I understand why it feels tiring and chalenging but Sadhguru has provided soooo many tools to deal with anything in a joyful manner that it blows my logical mind. I just hope everyone could give themselves the opportunity to experience them! Starting with Inner Engineering #SaveSoil

2035 is not that far away.
@hariss39082 жыл бұрын
@@montgomeryburns8183 aeroponics is an add on to traditional agricultural practices. The ability of a plant to naturally absorb organic matter at will and continuously from soil to provide the most nutritious produce is not something that can be as effectively replicated by either hydroponics or aeroponics. At least at present, we only know of certain essential macro and micronutrients that plants need at the least for growth and survival, but we are blind to a large majority of other nutrients that make our plants/food rich in organics worthy of consumption. So soil cannot be removed from the equation, at least for the foreseeable future.
