One very profound commentary on the Bhagawat Gita is by Paramhansa Yogananda, a realized Master and author of 'Autobiography of a Yogi '. The name of the commentary is 'God talks with Arjuna'. It's one of the finest learnings one can get by reading any book. Any seeker who is also into reading should not miss this book for anything. Its especially great for westerners who are not used to Indian terminology because Paramahansaji does not use any.

Thank you for the video 😀 Bhagwat gita is very deep, i remember reading just 2 lines and those 2 line used to be enough content for me for the entire day to think about and reflect as to how i can apply it in my life. The meaning of each verse spoken by bhagwan shree krishna is soooo deep. People say they have read gita twice or thrice but more than just reading, its important to understand and apply it in our daily life. And life will feel like heaven. 🙏🙏🙏

The last thing this interpreter said about how "Krishna is the only refuge" can be debated. Lord Krishna said it in a CONTEXT of Arjuna who is a dear friend and Krishna being spiritual guru for him. It shouldn't be taken as Krishna is the only way one can seek liberation. It could be through Jesus, Allah, Shiva or path of knowledge like Advaita or becoming Buddha.

Bhagawad Gita is not just any book. Its a gateway to consciousness. Reading it like any other book will get one nowhere and would leave one confused even after many readings. So one would need a teacher/Guru or one would have to make the Supreme One to remove all confusions and mental blocks. So, if your objective is consciousness, then surrender onto the supreme completely. Read only as much at once as one can handle the deep wisdom. When you feel ready then read further. But don't abandon it. Everything will be answered, all confusions will vanish. Confusion means expansion of the mind. After you finish reading the book, you will be a changed person. With my own experience I can guarantee that. This is an individual's journey. As partners, you two must support each other in their respective journey. It also helps in making friends with other devotees and keeping their association. Good luck

Before you read the gita here's a short intro to Mahabharat for u because gita is a part of Mahabharat. There were two brothers. Dhritarashtra and Pandu. Pandu was the king but had to leave for the forest with his wife for penance. Dhritarashtra became temporary king. Pandu died in the forest and his noble wife kunti came back home along with her five sons called pandavas. Dhritarashtra's 100 evil sons called kauravas under the influence of their evil and cunning uncle made the lives of Pandavas hell throughout their life. They were deprived from the throne which was rightfully theirs , one of them was poisoned as a child , they tried to burn them alive , they tried to disrobe their wife in front of the whole courtroom,they were sent to forest for many years . And so after facing all these atrocities by their 100 cousins , the pandavas finally stood for themselves and waged the war called mahabharat. Arjun is one of the 5 noble righteous Pandava brothers and was Lord Krishna's cousin too .
