I love them dearly. 🥰 They’ve gotten rid of the ticks that plagued us in former years. Was shocked not finding any ticks on us or the dogs this year. They’re fiesty & sassy but also little angels. I want more.

Great to hear that! Guinea fowls are fantastic for bug control and scaring off predators. Glad they're working out well for you. Enjoy your flock!"

I wish I’d recorded it the other day, but my 2 Guinea girls were screaming & ran straight at a couple deer in the yard 😂 The deer were unphased. They’re very feisty & sassy but I love them. No more ticks this year. Last year the ticks were a huge problem for us & the dogs.

I can testify that these birds make good warnings if a predator or intruder comes in their area especially at night.

I've had a fairly even number of good and bad experiences with other people's guinea fowl to know that while I would never want one of these feathered banshees for myself they are excellent when it comes to guarding their yards (they definitely sounded the alarm when they spotted me, which was terrifying) and keeping unwanted pests out. Once saw one dragging around a dead chicken snake it'd caught like some kind of trophy. Freaked me out, but their owner was beyond pleased. 😅

We heard these strange noises coming up the road from us and about a month later they made it down to our yard, 4 of them ... they nest in our holy bush now and when my husband gets home from work they run towards him like dogs 😂 no idea how they got here but I enjoy hearing em !

What a fun surprise! Guinea fowls are definitely known for their loud calls and unique personalities. It's pretty special that they've taken a liking to your yard and even greet you like that. Enjoy the joy they bring to your days!

Honestly I love them & their Egg's are very delicious 👍🤣🤣🤣🤣

I Missouri we had giant, golden guinea fowl. They made so much noise we had to get rid of them. Their calls were like a scream from hell.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT I LIVE IN WISCONSIN AND MY NEIGHBORS HAVE THEM. THEY DO NOT LIVE ON THE FARM WHERE THEY ARE LOCATED SO THE OWNERS ARE NOT BOTHERED WITH THEIR CONSTANT SQUAWKING. THE OWNERS ARE ALSO NOT BOTHERED BY THE DOG THEY HAVE ENCLOSED IN A FENCE WHICH BARKS 23 HOURS OF THE DAY. SOME PEOPLES PETS ARE A NUISANCE TO OTHERS.

How can you tell the difference from male and females
@cliffmeinhardt5682

The easiest way is by their call. Males make chirp and females two that sounds like come back. Males also have more feathers and a larger comb.

I used to raise these birds. Never again! They were extremely loud, very skittish, and aggressive towards my chickens. They constantly chased and attacked my chickens and one day after they killed my bantam hen, I had enough so I released them in a field and never saw them again. I dont know what happened to them and dont really care either.

Extremely well actually. If they want to leave, they will. If you are going to let them out of their cage, make sure they are fed and watered in their cage every evening at dusk, routinely.
