Raising kids without screens….Like Rooster did! Watch out California!

Wild Wild West

Күн бұрын

In an age where far too many parents let the screens rule the house we decided a couple years back to buck the trend…. NO SCREENS!
Teach your children right! Old man Rooster was never one to back down from taking us kids on the road. This week we are gonna do like he did! It’s gonna be a GIANT truck load of fun. Let’s see if I keep my sanity?!
You would be amazed how much work these four kids can get done while smiling all the way. This was one of the funnest weeks I’ve ever had on the road in a long, long time.

Wow! I am impressed! You and your wife have done a great job raising them without all of the digital devices!! I wish my husband would have taught my daughter more out in the world as she was growing up! He had to always have the final word on everything and never backed me up or allowed me to discipline her! Oh how I hate the screen time (been battling it for years)!! Heck, your 3 year old jumped right in to help…better than my 19 yr old would have done!! Keep up the good work!

I totally loved this show and thank you for teaching your children the right way. I am 65 now and my four boys are grown up with families of their own. This brought back so many memories and I have tears in my eyes as I write this, I did everything with my Boys when I was at home from the military. I missed them terribly when I was gone so when I got home it was a big family get together. All my Boys are productive members of society and are pulling their own weight in this world and passing on the things I taught them. Again, thank you for the memories and reminders that I hope every parent learns from.

Your last words were relevant. Reminds me of the time I was walking by an enclosed cattle trailer…the anus of a giant, full bovine, was perfectly aligned with a ventilation hole….covered in warmth and after my father stopped laughing, dad said “Son, sometimes in life, you just get shit on…it’s ok” It was a chilly ride home in the back of that pickup. Oh…there was this other time…on a walk in a great Northwest forest and came upon a talking Buck…well, we were bantering back and forth….wait….what the F..k am I goin on about…. Christ. Ever need a night in Portland my man….we got you taken care of….it’s on me. Yup. 👍 To everyone here…be well.

Even a loaded log truck(with Stinger-steered log trailer) can go lots of tight places you could never go with your trailer because the trailer axels follow in the same track as the tractor axels.

I cried watching this video....my Grandpa took me in his white and black cab-over KW aka 54yrs old this Nov. 2/2021...and he passed in my arms yrs back, because we loved trucks and God. I can't explain this feeling, but once being a trucker it never leaves you...My hubby is a trucker, but had back surgery...I said, "Hun can we be spouse truckers, because I'd get my CDL...he said "No to hard on my back aka surgery and dumped by a family owned business he gave 18+yrs to!" I so miss my Grandpa stories and time with him, even as his mind went, he remembered me and listened to me in his last month of life!" I get yelled at for wanting to buy just a regular pickup truck exacta cab w/8ft bed...It's hey, Mom you don't need that even though we live on a homestead and truly do, and now our income stinks, because hubby got put on SSD...yes, I'm disabled...the one thing that makes me want to thrive is driving...I drive hubby never does when he's home pre surgery...I drove all the time all over the country. and would never let him drive. My Grandpa had me help drive his truck and I can drive a 18 speed and 90% a double clutcher I've learned just need to take a test and want an old-loved semi...Hubby just asked we what I was typing...I said, I missed Grandpa L. and just having a large Pickup not a little Jeep Patriot as he yells (nicely) why you taking a BIG turn as I drive in a small jeep?! Sigh LIFE can stink when you're just stuck at home...Grandpa said, "I was born to truck!" wised I listened to a man of God and did a "Million" mile ring (yet he did even more 3x over) receiver which I'd love to have a Ring to wear like that! if anyone has one to sell...I'd wear it with love and respect to all you AWESOME Truckers KEEPING our country moving! {Even though our Gov. is screwing things up for you guys/gals} God bless you ALL! Kellie

This brought happy tears to my eyes because it reminded me of going on truck trips with my Dad when I was growing up. The most memorable driving in the Midwest blizzard of 78 when I was in 8th grade. I learned so much from him and it was always awesome to see the impressed looks on boys faces when they saw the things I could do even though I was a girl. He eventually owned his own trucking company in Oak Creek, Colorado and passed on his wealth of knowledge and experience to the next generation. Seeing how you bond with your kids on those trips, just like I did with my Dad is so heartwarming. You ROCK!

I'm glad you still like trucking. After 26 years and working on my third million miles, I'm burned out. Looking forward to never having to do it again. However... I used to run out west and liked that better. Better scenery, less traffic, more peaceful. Now I run the middle of the country from the Mexican border to Canada. So much traffic and crazy drivers everywhere. Ugh. There was a time when I loved it, except for the time away from my wife and kids... She eventually had her fill of being alone. Couldn't blame her. Great vlog though. Wonderful kids. God bless you, brother.

Good video. It brings back memories of when we were kids. When my dad still was an owner operator for various moving companies, during summer vacation the whole family would have to pack into his truck and we’d be gone for a month on the road. My dad hired less labor on jobs and used myself and my brothers for the labor. The moving business has to be the hardest job in trucking. My dad and both of my uncles were and still are truck drivers. One of them quit driving and is mow an agent for one of the moving companies. Me and my youngest brother were both drivers. All I’ve ever known is the military and trucks. My dad had a truck and trailer sitting at the yard. I ran that hauling cars enclosed up until the medical issues that retired me early from the Army worsened and forced me out of the truck. In one of your other videos you said once it’s in your blood it’s hard to get out. How true that statement is. I miss it. I now have two sons and it’s nothing but military equipment, tractors, and trucks for them. Oh and I’ve got to throw in baseball too!

One of the most beautiful videos I’ve seen in a long time. Saddens me to not have children of my own yet. Keep up the good work 👍
