Spike looks like a sweet, cute cat. I had a RB little girl who has since passed, but she was awesome and sweet, too. All cats are awesome, but there is just something so special about the Russian Blue.

@@TyDomi says who ? A russian blue cat is naturally skittish and scare easily , it feels safer indoors and often found sitting indoors even though the door is open . They also have a short coat making them more susceptible to weather conditions

@@virtualbeast3936 Mine walks around the neighborhood with our other 4 cat's while we walk the dog. Although he has become a bit skittish over the last 3 months he still loves to go outside from about 530 till 10am then from about 6 till midnight

Thank you for info on the brush. I been trying to find a good brush for his double layer coat. Also the steam pan is a wonderful idea. I would suggest going to a local restaurant supply store. Things are normally low er costs. They have everything from every type of glasses, cutlery, etc.

Another "trick" is to use a plastic flea comb that has been wet, preventing too much hair from flying around. Mine begs for that every day when I wake up. I will sometimes use a boar brush to "touch " him up..

I have a 6 months old Russian blue kitten called Nero and they look so much alike. 😍 Also we the the almost exact same routine. Sleeping throughout the night (although I don’t know if he really sleeps all the time but he is not waking us up by miauing until he hears our alarm go off.). We also habe the Play Session in the Morning and ohne extensive one before bed. Time. And i am also wirklich from Home which is Great hin and me as he likes to sleep next to me while I woke. 🥰

I just adopted a 5 month old Scottish fold (or should I say she adopted me? Ha!). It’s been 4 days, and I can’t wait for her to come around so we can have play time together. I get to pet her every now and then, but she just keeps to herself in the corner :/

Thanks so much for watching! That’s awesome that you’ll be getting your own russian blue soon. I’d say the most important thing to do the first day is to initially give your kitten some space to sniff out the environment and let the kitten explore at it’s own pace. Start off putting your kitten in one room for the first few hours and then open up the rest of the areas in your house/apartment you want to allow access to. Once your kitten is familiarized with the environment, he/she will feel safe and come to you. In addition to having food/water out, I’d also have some treats handy so that you can show the kitten you want to be friendly. Kittens might choke on bigger/harder treats, so I’d recommend a kitten-safe treat like Inaba Churu squeezable treats. I also have a kitten-proofing video if you’d like to learn more about creating a physically safe environment before bringing him/her home. Wishing you and your new kitty the best!

Yup, usually we try to tire him out with evening playtime so that he will just sleep for most of the night. When we first got him, we also didn’t let him in the bedroom yet (mainly because we were scared of crushing him in bed). This also helped because he’s such an interactive cat, so usually when we went into the bedroom for the night, he would just sleep too because he’d get bored. Now that he’s older, we do let him sleep with us and he’ll usually sleep throughout the night and wake up around 5

Yes it’s been very minimal! He does tend to shed more in the summer, but definitely still not as much as other cats.

How easy is it to brush your cat’s teeth?

It can be difficult in the sense that we use poultry flavored toothpaste so Spike will furiously start licking/biting the toothbrush thinking it’s a treat. But we use a soft silicon brush (Soft Cat Toothbrush with 360-degree Head on Amazon), so we’re able to gently twirl the brush when he tries to bite it. Given Spike’s very active/hyper personality, this is easier for us than using a flavorless/minty cat toothpaste and a one-sided brush! We also got him used to us touching his mouth when he was very young, so he’s not afraid when it’s time to brush.

I’ve got a 4 month RB kitten .. I can’t even cut her nails ,,so I doubt very much brushing her teeth is gonna be on the list anytime soon !! She’s so annoying .. she plays darts around the house which is fine I’ve brought loads of toys! But she wants to eat my food as well !! I can’t eat in peace ! She gets fed regularly but it makes no difference!! 😮

Each one has their own personality but generally Russian Blues are known to be friendly once they warm up to you!

I honestly think that his breath and Pooh might start to stink when he gets a little bit older because he’s not eating raw food which is what they’re supposed to be eating it’s OK though to feed factory made pet food though to cats still but I suggest that you put a little bit of raw food in there just as a little treat or kind of like having a burger with a salad on the side instead of french fries but for cats have a little bit of meat on the side instead of just pure commercial cat food

Thanks for the advice! We've actually recently been looking into transitioning him onto a raw diet so it's likely we will switch him over by the time he is an adult. Will probably make another video talking about our experience transitioning him to raw :)

my blue gets raw pellets (stella & chewy's) twice a day & what a difference it has made, not only with her breath lol. she eats it like the main course & the kibble is like the rice or side salad. recently i ran out & wasn't able to get more for two days... this upset her to the point she knocked over her litterbox - completely out of character for her as she is extremely very sweet. lesson learned! never go too long without the raw food!
