This also kills wingspan for me. And I on the other hand love and adore wingspan! I'll still play it and get the rest of the expansions, but raising robots as an engine builder works so much smoother and faster! Engine builders are my favorite and raising robots pretty much smashes my favorite two together, wingspan, and race for the galaxy. I just wish the game was longer

Thank you for the high quality playthrough. The zoomed in displays and detailed descriptions were very easy to follow. I really do appreciate the quality of content that you provide and present. It makes decisions on whether to back or purchase a game much easier.

Stockpile is great. They also made The Reckoners, which is a game based on the books by Brandon Sanderson. It's a really good Coop game.

I backed this game. Can't wait for it to arrive. Glad to know it fits the Wingspan niche. I never bought Wingspan; it never attracted me. I don't like 'gotcha' games either. I want people happy at the table, not grumbling. Thanks for the playthrough! May 2024 is the estimated date for the Kickstarter version.

to reduce luck of the draw / add more interaction introduce any of 1. a market row for robots 2. a display row for class cards 3. add the energy cards to the player hand how would you implement the details of these variations to ensure balance and fairness?

Starting to wish I backed this on KS. Looks good and the art is dope but seemed very heavy and seeing a playthrough definitely helps.

At 47:20(ish) shouldn't Frances have gotten 7 on the Fabricate instead of 6? 4 for the card, 2 for the cubes, and 1 for the uncovered upgrade?
@sethvanorden1
@sethvanorden1 Жыл бұрын
Yes it does look like she should had 7 power. She likely missed the bonus from the uncovered power boost via the upgrade.

The one thing missing from the KS version was inserts for the box. This game cries out for it badly. I found a good set of 3d print files for it, and I think it makes the setup much easier as it separates out the bits for each player nicely.

if you had to pick one game only, which would it be? Earth, Raising Robots, or Ark Nova? I’m interested in all three but they all seem to overlap
@NathanTenney
@NathanTenney 10 ай бұрын
I think Raising Robots is the simpler of the 3 you mentioned. The replayability of all three is very good (all of them have a TON of cards. It will take you a while to see them all in a game). I like Ark Nova, but it is a real hit or miss game. You either love it or hate it, and it has a lot going on. If I could only choose one? Maybe Earth, but the other two are pretty close in terms of my enjoyment thus far. Of course, of the 3, Raising Robots is the only one I have in my library, but I attribute that more to my kickstarter addiction than to my liking it more.
@samiamagaimagain

Ark Nova is by far the best of the three for me, but it's also the heaviest. If you prefer lighter games, go with Earth.

No boardgame exists to kill another boardgame. Different themes different sensations. This bad habit of saying that game x kills game y is more of a private and personal opinion than the absolute reason for something. so we have 2 good games for free choice.
@AntLabGames
@AntLabGames Жыл бұрын
Agreed. Raising Robots killed Wingspan for US. This is our opinion. People are free to love both, but our limited collection size encourages us to be very selective with what games we keep and what games leave. Raising Robots is coming into our collection and Wingspan is leaving it.

maybe this game is better for some, but to kill wingspan that's overstated pretty sure in few years most people wont even remember this one

@PhilGerb93
@PhilGerb93 Жыл бұрын
@@AntLabGamesHe's right though, the birds theme is a lot more mainstream. Also Wingspan doesn't look like a kids game like this one and is imo more elegant. The gameplay might be better for hardcore board game players like you but it will never reach the same success with the masses.
