Hi I raised my gen 1 650 25mm using bones. I was two up alot and this kept the bike from squatting when loaded. I run the shock fairly soft with not much damping adjustment for a comfortable ride. When solo I noticed slightly quicker turn in but it was still stable enough for me. Ground clearance also was maintained even two up so I could still enjoy the twisties. I've got 50/50 Anlas Capra X tyres on order so my attention is now to the forks. Emulators are top of my list, then springs. Lift/travel kits are available but I'm still researching that. I'm off to the Picos in Spain next year and hopefully the bike will be improved for the riding we have planned.

Thanks for the comment. And I’m glad the raising links worked out for you! There are complete kits out there to lift the entire bike, but they start getting quite expensive.

Great video, thanks for making it. all I'm seeing on the AT website now are the dog-bone style raising links. is there a difference in performance, or as long as the lift is achieved, it's all the same? if they are still selling the plates you installed, do you have a URL link? Thanks for any input.

I got mine from AdventureTech. Whether it’s dog bone or plates like mine, depends on the year and model of the bike. My year and model of VSTROM just happened to have those triangular plates.

You should be adding bigger spacers in the front forks also to ensure the telemetry of the bike is maintained. Just lifting the back makes it tilt forward.

You should. But the fork job is a lot more complicated than rear spring. Most owners will say that raising just the rear makes the V-Strom handle better.

@@1LiterADV I wouldn't say that it's more complicated. As the forks are the traditional way up, you don't even have to remove the oil. Once you've removed the caps, you can replace the spacers with longer pieces of pvc pipe.

Does they new link afects the spring rate required in the suspensión?

I think the answer is no. It does not affect the spring compression. But I did not design this product so I may be wrong. Here's how I understand it: The cushion links change the physical geometry of the swing arm relative to the motorcycle chassis. This does not compress the spring any different, just at a slightly different angle. The only thing I am not 100% sure about is whether or not it affects the rear suspension travel distance.

Why only found Lowering kits everywere, nobody sell raising kit. Guys of 1.90 mts are not Giants 😢
