Triops´s exo-skeleton consists of calcium, which they can consume if you leave thier old skin in the aquarium, or if you leave cuttlebone in there. When triops shed, they grow. But if triops dont have a readily available source of calcium, they wont grow as big. This is why I reccomend leaving thier old skin in the aquarium after they shed.
@Stachli3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! You're right, of course, but with me the Triops shed their skin so often that there are tons of skin lying around / swimming in the aquarium. And then I always remove only the roughest so that the aquarium is not so dirty. I don't get all of it anyway, and hopefully there'll be enough left inside :)

Hey :) Thats true, the first one was spirulina powder. But next, there are many different types of rearing feed/main feed, but most of them are similar. Hi, Your video was very like, thank you. I heard that Triops eggs are very hard. In the Japanese kit you put the eggs and a small amount of sand in a container and shake it for 2 minutes before putting it in the tank. Will the eggs hatch without any stimulation?

Hello, I would like to build a bowl aquarium ecosystem (so, no filter, the bowl is big but not that big) and I was wondering if triops need a lot of swimming space and if they do well in room temperature water (around 13 - 20 Celsius I assume) and supposedly heavily planted environment to keep the water stable. Thanks!

Hey, im just about to start this and i have 3 questions 😊 1. If they do not hatch, can i dry them out and try again? 2. Does the water need to be a distilled, spring mix? Is just spring ok? 3. If they hatch and lay eggs, how do i make them hatch?
@Stachli Жыл бұрын
Heyy 😊 1. Yes, you can. But if they don't hatch because there are simply no good eggs, they won't hatch the second time either. 2. The distilled water is for making the water more soft, because they wont hatch in hard water. If your spring water is soft enough you can use it alone, but thats very unlikely. 3. You wait until they all have died (They wont live longer than 4 months), then you remove the water and dry the sand. Then you can start all over again.
