I drive this as a rental for two weeks in the south last summer. I feel in love with the car. If i don't stop watching videos about it i will wind up buying one. I love everything about it. The cvt wasn't bad. The only thing i would change is the placement of the sport mode switch. I didn't know it existed until 3 before i had to return the car. It was decently responsive. What i really love about the car is the fuel efficiency. I got 36 mpg. For a non hybrid mid size sedan that is stellar. I had a 2004 Toyota Corolla that never got more than 30 mpg.
@theburg22202 жыл бұрын
For all those yowling about the CVT... in normal daily driving, it does just fine and it returns stellam mpg. I have a 2015 Altima with almost 203,000 miles on it - bought it new in July 2015 - and the CVT has been flawless. I change the CVT fluid every 50k miles and have always been a maintenance maven. The only unscheduled repair I've ever had was to replace the front right axle. I still get almost 38 MPG on the highway and 30 mpg combined city / highway. On long trips, a full tank of gas will take me almost 700 miles and that's with me averaging between 70-80 mph. Now, I wish I could get the Altima SR with a proper manual transmission. That would be an instant sale.

I rented a Camry and a 2023 Altima back to back and drove them on the same roads. Somehow, the Altima has more personality, if you can call it that. I found the Altima's steering and ride to be about perfect on real California roads, and I beat the Camry's fuel economy by 6 mpg.
@mathisnotforthefaintofheart Жыл бұрын
The Altima is more of a "drivers" vehicle than the bland Camry. That said, the Camry also offers a hybrid, which is a tad quicker than the regular four banger AND is has a much better fuel economy. In this day and age with gas prices fluctuating so much, if you are not ready for EV (and I would not recommend and EV at this moment), hybrid is a logical choice. My Camry hybrid gives me more than 50 mpg's and I don't care what the price of petrol is...I really don't. It's a minuscule part of my budget. Nissan's CVT is poor and they have no hybrid. Test drive the Camry as well as the new Accord hybrid and you will be utterly surprised that these cars aren't as "impersonal" as you think. A test drive always makes you an experience richer...

Former 1995 Nissan Altima owner (for a decade), and would rather have that one over this current model. As Joe said, the current model should lose the CVT. The current model, while categorized as a midsize, is more full size by the old standards due to the incessant segment creep where the Altima has grown larger than the Maxima. Nissan needs to lose the CVT across the line, and offer a Sentra with the variable compression 1.5T to get me interested in a sedan from them.

I love the color and tech in this Altima. I think they made smart changes, only deal breaker is that damn CVT. Put it to rest Nissan!

I own a 2010 Altima with a CVT and after 96,000 miles have had no transmission problems. I would rather have a smooth , fuel efficient CVT than a 8 or 9 speed automatic that is constantly searching for gears, shifts rough and is reluctant to downshift.

do these have sensors around the outside of the vehicle?

How are those paddle shifters? I have an 09 Altima 2.5S cvt w the gear shift manual option. I am used to that and use it a lot ..saves brakes. No need for me to press a button...just move shifter yo left, etc. How are those paddles? When u turn, can u still work the paddles easily? I have liked my 09. Only issue has been leaking..clogged drain from moonroof many times and water leaks in w bad rain and water got in doors. Guess the weatherproofing strips needs to be replaced. Trying to keep my 09 going, but these newer models r looking good. How many miles does the avg 09 Altima last btw?

I have always loved the shade of blue that Nissan has used on the Altimas , but that CVT is a deal breaker for now.

Digging the new Altima looks better wish did something with the taillights I knew for 2023 Nissan was going to give the Altima makeover did a excellent job only thing taillight housing should had been new optional. Still definitely fine with the CVT also love the Deep blue pearl color and front end is amazing makes it look more appealing my opinion the Altima is now highest initial midsize car though the Camry might last longer got to give the Altima credit same goes to Nissan they are doing real excellent job on the new lineups wish manufacturers still used manuals think this trim level should had came with a 9 nine speed automatic now really love the Altima.

Look at the Chinese version of the Altima. Looks way more premium than this American version. And it has beautiful rear led lights. It also has really nice interior LED lighting.
@ramoncarter65852 жыл бұрын
@@jz7551 I did it looks more premium I wish that was how the American version had looked except little bit bold we might see that version probably in 2025 if they keep same body platform.

You guys can say sh*t tons of mock towards nissan. But you cannot avoid the fact that this brand has legacy in the automotive industry and it will live on forever. Big love to Nissan Altima from a pathfinder owner!
@megatonesilva65462 жыл бұрын
Lol......legacy of the CTV transmissions......if it wasn't for those transmissions these would be great cars. Top trim level Altima SR will never be better than the base model Camry.
