And don’t forget guys… when you open the door to get in, the whole car tilts to make ingress easier. It also does the same thing if it detects a side impact to protect the passengers. That’s just a small portion of the tech in the S8.

Mercedes did it 2nd ! Audi did this with the S8 in 2020 along with Lexus. Audi also came up with the S8 in 1997. It took until 2001 for Mercedes to come up with the AMG S class and 2004 for BMW to devise the Albina B7.

Bought one last month coming from a 2019 MB S63. Fully loaded with the predictive suspension. Only thing I miss about the S63 so far is the active bolster seats and the ceramic brakes. Other then that, the comfort, the handling, the ride in general is significantly better. I was nervous at first (my last Audi was a 2017 RS7) but couldn’t be happier being back in the Audi fold with this car!

If you're in UK you thought about the S6 Avant TDI. 34mpg 74 lb-ft torque less than the S8s 590 lb - ft. With a tune you would be well in the 600s, crazy pulling power from low revs.

As an owner of this exact spec (minus the color) i agree with Raiti on most of this. Car is fantastic and does all things well. Exhaust is too quiet though. I swapped for bigger down pipes and added just enough to be very satisfying. Overall this car sleeps on everybody then blows their doors off

I love this S8..but...but..I like the old school body,2017-2019 S8 plus ,604 hp with the Bang and Olfsen metal plate speakers 🔊 and the tweeters rise and the leather quilted seats..but the redesign is cost cutting but better..thanks Joe and Steven for this exciting segment..on throttle!!!!😀

It would be my choice for sure over the other 2 German auto makers. Not a big fan of the black out addition but love the performance. I have VW and hate that gloss black. Nice review Joe! You zonked the headliners color, but I’ve read they do this so it’s not so dark and claustrophobic. More of a open and airy feeling. I’m with you though darken that thing up.

Hey John ! I mean Joe. 😂 This review was dope. Audi is one of my favorite auto makers along with Lexus & Landover. I remember I used to work for Dr. OZ he had one of these Audi's and let me tell you. This is a very fancy and fast car. The ride is smooth and the seats suck you in. The whole ambiance of the vehicle just makes you feel important at least that's how it made me feel while I was in it. Joe I have a request / suggestion. During your on throttle scenes. Can we get a wide view of the dashboard while you're driving along with showing your facial shots ? Also can you do a 0 to 60 test ?

The BMW feels like a rival to a Bentley or a Maybach... the Audi looks like a big VW with some luxury. Audi needs to launch a new gen Audi A8 soon.

Congratulations sir, you are the first KZbinr to review my three favorite Audi models (S8 sedan, R8 spyder, RSQ8 SUV). I can imagine all three cars belonging to serious buyers since they all do their own thing (daily driver, hauler, fun car) incredibly well. My only zonk is I wish Audi offered more color choices for the interior/exterior like what BMW does, a zonk that I give Mercedes as well. Heck I have seen MB change specs mid model year on the NEW SL and remove color options - not good for buyers who want a special look and are willing to spend $200K+ for it. It's not too hard to find a shop that will do custom wraps and paint colors, same with outfits that will do trim kits. But if I am going that far after already spending $150K-200K I would probably consider a Bentley, and enjoy that one-of-a-kind W12 they offer instead. At the end of the day, for the price Audi is charging for these three cars in their top spec, I really cannot complain.

Big Zonk for me is the heating control for the rear on the armrest. Just took a family road trip to your lovely state and we had three toddlers car seat in the center with adults on both sides in my A6. With this setup they wouldn’t be able to control the heat or heated seats.
