Fell in love with them as soon as they came out in 2008, my ex had an Evo X Final - made me fall in love with it even more. He woke up one day and his car was stolen. Hope to own one day, sadly he passed - I’ll forever remember my cruises with him, winning every car race.

Joe, when you refer to "Piano Black" and then "Gloss Black," is there a difference in these blacks justifying the different reference? Also, is there a difference in a blow-off valve vs. a waist gait? The only "Zonk" I can come up with on this particular vehicle is that the steering wheel star should have the carbon fiber overlay like what was done on the bumper star.

I really think Mitsubishi designed the finest import production racecar ever, Whitezilla. Your EVO is gorgeous. Heck, back in March of 2007 my wife and I paid $24,350 for our 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS CVT. I wanted a 5-speed stick and the guy on the phone said the car they wanted to sell me was a 5-speed, in actuality it was an automatic CVT. We bought it anyway. Now, the car rocked though. It had a Rockford Fosgate 8-speaker 560-watt stereo that was great. That body design just rocks like Foghat in May of 1978 at the Seattle Center Coliseum. Absolutely gorgeous! Enjoy that pup - I am either going for a 2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO 6-speed or a 2015-2017 Mitsubishi Lancer GT 5-speed stick. I'm CarGuru-ing that search now! Rock on!

Cool. I love Nissan because they love great cars, they don't overcharge, and they build great cars. I love Mitsubishi and Nissan, this hunt is gonna be fun! I am gonna buy used, but it's got ta be gently used. I'm think Monday will be purchase day, so I'm getting excited! Enjoy your car - man is building some great cars now. Ford's Focus ST rocks pretty nicely, Mitsubishi's EVO and Lancer GT, and Nissan's Sentra NISMO and SR Turbo are all great cars. Evo looks more aggressive than the STI, front end wise idk is really hard choosing one of them both look good but I would say the evo got a more raw look than the wrx/STI look more mature

Hon-Duh can't touch dis. I owned a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS CVT. Wonderful car, I wouldn't mind coming back and buying another, honestly. Gotta be a 5-speed manual, though. Nissan 2017-2019 Sentra SR Turbo and NISMO are pulling me Nissan's way, but, we'll see. Gonna enjoy the chase!

How is the hood scoop functional when the car has a FMIC? Is there something else up there for cooling? I'm unsure if you said whether or not Tony races this but for a daily driver, how does removing the rear seats help? Does weight reduction improve gas mileage?

Owned total of three Subaru STI since 2006 and has always being a STI and EVO fan. But honestly, I wouldn't buy any of these car "NEW" today. They pretty much remain unchanged for the past 10 years while other sport cars advance so much with new technologies. Oh well, at least they didn't up their price much.

Simple answer as to why they stopped making EVO’s Joe: Money or lack of it. Nobody wanted to spend over $30,000 for a car with a super low budget interior and horrible gas mileage. Now you could say the same about the WRX but there has to be one AWD fun machine on the market thankfully and I have been seeing a lot of REX’s on the road. People if you want the manufacturers to build these cars then you have to do more than just watch videos about them. You actually have to buy them! Yes I owned a 2002 WRX. 1st year in America. I wanted this car to stick around. Yes, I am buying another one.

I heard one of the main reason is since Nissan bought some % stocks in Mitsubishi, they dont want a cheaper car competing with their Nissan 370z and especially the GTR. Couple of mods for the Evo and can be the same level as a GTR and way better than 370z. Thats just my guess..

Maybe is just my imagination but the Evo 10 can't seem to carry the raw performance as the previous gen Evos like the Evo 6 Tommi Makinen or the Evo 9 MR Many of my Evo purist feel the zonk of the Evo 10 is the big change from the 4G63 cast iron block engine to the 4B11T engine and also the horror stories of the Dual Clutch transmission blowing up We all know the gearbox of the Evos arent that strong as the STi 6 speed unit but def some decision to give the Evo the Dual Clutch transmission was a bad move and it ended up causing more gearbox failure as compared to the 6 speed DSG found in the Golf GTis ETS and English Racing is def the tuner and garage to go if you want a monster Evo 10 since their fastest pass for the Evo 10 is 8.85 on the 1/4 mile

I totally agree with you! My buddy had an EVO 9 with a quite a few mods and it was just unbelievable how raw the power felt! Something was lost in translation from the EVO9 to 10 and then the demise of it all. I wonder why Mitsubishi decided to go that direction it did with changing the engine.

Evo x is raw for sure i been in evo 9 and didnt drive as aggressive as evo x does. Evo 9 had full ets bolt ons

Maybe its the dual clutch gearbox that makes the Evo X less raw, sat in a few of them, they are not as smooth as the DSG in the VWs but it way less jerky than the Evo 9 with lot of upgrades.

Final edition white Evos never came in wicked white (flat white). They got the Diamond white pearl paint.

I don't know what it is about the sound of those compared to the WRX/Sti or even the Focus RS... those sound the deepest...pretty impressive. I like the WRX sound as well..... but seriously... that EVO sounds nice. Why can't Ford make that sound? What gives? I've never found an Ecoboost Mustang that sounds good and I'm not a hater just because it's not the V8. I'm actually tired of that V8 sound.... I like an exotic sound. Lexus LFA.... Pagani..... some Porsches.... I'm not really honestly into the muscle car sounds but I like speed. Even modded BMW can sound pretty interesting.
