Another Great Video ! I always frown on GM for there petty cost cuttings. GM did not shock me with this one either, Raise the price cut options , GM's go to scam. ( No Passive entry on the rear doors , no dump handles in the inner luggage compartment to release seats . ) Carry over to the dismal power, and towing is useless. I love the design and the interior looks great . But the sad cost cutting GM does everywhere makes me wonder what they cost cut under the facade.

They have come a long way. GM or Chevy has improved a lot. When you compared to the Toyota design, Toyota really need to come with a better design. Chevy has really done a 360 on the new Equinox! It's no longer a boring frumpy appliance. Im glad they are shredding that rental car look throughout their whole lineup. I just wish it had more power or made the RS trim with more power to compete with their rivals. Hopefully, add a hybrid option next model year. Pricing seems "affordable" compared to their rivals. Great video. I need to know if anyone has been experiencing any weird smells coming through the vents on their brand new 2025 equinox? my wife purchased a brand new equinox 2025 about 3 months ago and every now and then for a brief few seconds, she would smell a fume like smell (best description we have so far) and then it goes away and its back to regular car smell. This only happens when the AC is on recirculating, temp medium and fan speed on medium. We brought it to the GM dealership and they replaced the cooling fan (mind u this is a brand new vehicle) which reduced the smell drastically but there are still faint smell every now and then. We don't know what we are inhaling and despite our efforts, the dealership still doesn't know what is causing the smell since they can't seem to replicate it so we are documenting everything to give them, since it is still under warranty. If anyone out there has just bought a chevy equinox LT 2025, please let me know if you have the same issue and what was the culprit and the fix please. This is driving us crazy. I know if this was a BMW and we were having these issues they would have probably done more for us.

I know there was a worker strike at the plant earlier this year, and Ford announced about a month ago that the 24 model year was being ended early because of global parts shortage. I finally got my build date for the week of Sept 30, while i expected to get it this month. Production seems to be an issue for some manufacturers too for various reasons. Its a long wait, but Im paying MSRP so its worth it to me. I refused to pay markups so I finally found a dealer that worked with me. Even at markup they fly right off the lot. I saw one at a local dealership for $10k over not even last a week recently. Pretty crazy.

Great looking car. I really like the interior. Most of the newer Chevy's are very stylish. Def. not better than my Mazda CX5 turbo w/256 HP. Pretty much all of today's cars are over priced. The safety stuff that they are including in these cars is driving the price tags up too high, especially since a lot of people I know turn most of it off. It is a shame that even the entry level models are still priced higher than what most people can afford. The cheapest AWD version of this car is $32k, drop the AWD and you save $2k but are penalized with a crappy CVT. I would never pay $30k for this car with a CVT. The cheapest Mazda CX5 comes standard with AWD and a standard transmission & more HP and is $28,570.00 so there's your answer. AWD Equinox for $32 or AWD Mazda for $28.5 (the Mazda price is 2024 so it may go up a bit for the new 2025 model)

The Major Disappointment on this new Equinox is that the GM has not replaced the 1.5 Turbo with the 2.0 Turbo found in the Cadillac XT4. Not a Fan of the Shark Fin and Blacked Out Editions, give me more chrome and polished Aluminum Wheels. GM needs to replace polished piano black trim and add Maple Tan interior color to all trims. The Key Fob needs to be rectangular in shape, no need to waste money on a special Key Fob shape. People want money spent on interior materials, technology, and warranties! My Question is the 2025 Equinox interior as large or larger than the 2015 model? Great Review!

I don’t think having an AWD button is logical in this car. Why not just do a more sophisticated automatic AWD system like more expensive GM vehicles use? Just think about how many people who drive an AWD version of this will forget to push that button when the weather is bad (I mean, we already see how many people don’t know to turn on their lights at night thinking they’ll automatically turn on anyhow).

It’s almost like Chevrolet isn’t serious about selling their cars. Why are they priced on par with Toyota and Honda? If they offered it for $23-25k, it would instantly become the top choice for any middle-class family seeking a spacious vehicle. What are they even teaching in marketing these days?

So they force you to buy an all-wheel drive, which is not a necessary feature for most people, to get a good transmission, and for the budget front wheel drive model, which is all that’s needed, they force you to take the bad CVT transmission. Don’t tell me that the auto companies are now playing games with the mechanical parts to force you to move up and buy the unnecessary more expensive models. This fact alone, is why the CX5 is a much better vehicle and why I will pass on the Equinox. Whomever was responsible for this marketing blunder, was probably involved in the decision to jump from gas to EV when the obvious choice would have been to introduce the PHEV first until EV technologies improved and people embraced the concept of giving up their gas vehicles. My advice is to stay away from CVT transmissions. If you’ve got money to burn on the all-wheel drive Equinox, do it. However, all you will ever need in most parts of the US for an on-road vehicle is front wheel drive; yes, even in snow. And for the front wheel drive vs the all-wheel drive debate…lay a pencil on the table and push the pencil forward (length wise) via its eraser and watch what the point of the pencil does. Now pull the pencil by its lead point and watch what the eraser does. Hence, steering is required to keep the vehicle straight on a rear wheel drive resulting in more friction as opposed to the more efficient and effective front wheel drive. Don’t fall for the all wheel drive hype unless you want an all terrain vehicle or live where snow falls the majorly of the year. Mechanical engineer for four decades.
