I love this all (new "Equinox") and I believe that this is the segment leader, in looks, interior and exterior, infotainment, and ride quality is amazing. The transmission works flawlessly and the transmission is tuned to deliver the tork low in the band and this vehicle takes off as if it had a much larger displacement. I give this all-new Equinox a (10 out of 10).

I daily drive a 2022 Equinox base model with the 1.5 engine in the DC/Baltimore area which is notorious for hectic roads and ‘spirited’ driving conditions. I see a lot of people commenting that the power is inadequate. Not one single time have I ever had an issue merging or passing another vehicle. I am usually wondering why other folks with more powerful engines aren’t getting up to speed quickly enough 🤔. My car now has 46,000 miles with zero mechanical issues. The routine maintenance has been easy and inexpensive. My gas mileage averages about 27 city, 35 highway, and 32 combined on regular grade. It’s a practical commuter vehicle with good functionality. It’s not sexy or built for the track, but for the average daily driver it is completely adequate and reasonably priced.

@@aimveryhigh nobody bought them is pretty ignorant thing to say without context. the rebates deals and incentives almost never applied to the 2.0 equipped models. plus most dealerships had little to none of those in stock so if you wanted one you paid out the rear end for it most cases. this is true for almost every car that has an optional engine and then the BS excuse is that nobody bought them. another example would have been the Camry with the V6 a few years ago as it could easily cost you 5000 to 6000 more than the same trim with the I4 because of incentives not being on the V6 models. FFS my local dealership would have nearly 100 I4 models in stock and usually only 1 or 2 V6 models at best.

and in real world driving it feels way worse than 175 too. I have been driving the 1.5 turbo turd Equinoxes for nearly 6 years as we get new one every couple of years. I have racked up at least a half million miles on them and the powertrain is inconsistent garbage in every one of them. sometimes it feels peppy and other times it feels like it cant get out of its on way and has tons of lag. plus every one I have driven has completely lost nearly all power at some point and had to be put in the shop. the same goes for nearly every one in our fleet.

Comparing a gasoline engine to a hybrid’s fuel economy and hp number is like comparing the Equinox EV to a RAV4. *gm* went a different direction, full EV or gasoline turbocharged 4. The Japanese can’t compete with *gm* in the EV space so they go in a different direction having to hone in on old hybrid tech. It’s disingenuous to pretend one got it right and the other got it wrong. The reality is if *gm* offers a hybrid later, they will have covered all three forms of energy propulsion options whereas their competition hasn’t put nearly as much effort into the segment and gets all the roses. *gm* does not get the credit they deserve but I’m beginning to be ok with all the bias. It just pushes them even further to be better. I actually think they’re on their way to competing with themselves because of it! Beautiful Equinox Chevy!

not sure why you'd compared this Equinox to hybrid models as many do? it's a given they'd all get much better mileage. Apparently its been said over in China they have the phev version of this one and it's been reported to get pretty insane mileage. I have the 2022 Equinox RS (previously had the 2018) and combined it gets me 27 mpg. Now every driver is different in the gas pedal area. I don't mind the power mine has and it gets me where I need to go. Torque vs HP is a literal toss up. When it comes to the stereo you have to pick your battles there. Get a vehicle with a killer system but overall it's just ok. Or get a car because it has all the features you actually need. Personally I don't buy a car because of the stereo.

There needs to be a Grey and Tan interior color choices on all trim levels. I would like to see more chrome trim and polished bright aluminum wheels. The Instrument Cluster and interior center tablet size center screen are far more attractive in the New Terrain. However the Equinox ‘s front clip is more attractive than that of the Terrain. Too Bad the New Terrain does not have a down sized version of the front clip of the New Acadia. The two center screens in the Equinox is susceptible to sun glare which will wash it out.
