As far as the next generation of midsize truck goes with the information we have, I think it is at least 2nd or 3rd place. It’s a very worthy option in the segment. I’d rank them as this: 1. Colorado/Canyon - I’m not a Chevy guy in any way, but they really knocked it out of the park across the board. I would have liked to see better fuel economy and maybe 1 or 2 more standard features on the Trail Boss but that’s it. 2. Tacoma/Frontier - I still think the Frontier is a great looking truck and you can’t beat what the Pro-4X gives you for the price. It’s a great mix of old and new. The new Taco should have that old Toyota reliability and comes with a really nice interior. 3. Gladiator - You either love these things or you hate them. I’m somewhere in the middle. 4. Honda Ridgeline - same as the Jeep but more for the road than off road. 5. Ford Ranger - I used to be a Ford guy, but I don’t think there’s enough new here in comparison to the competition to make me go out and buy one. I’d rather have the Bronco on the same platform, and we may not even see a lot of these because of Bronco back orders. I will give them credit though in that the Ranger Raptor is probably the most enticing truck in this entire segment for me, but that’s the top of the line trim that I doubt I can afford. I can afford the Pro-4X, the Trail Boss, and the Canyon AT4/Elevation though even if they are less capable

Awesome looking truck - been thinking of getting one...the air dam would have to go though. I drive off road sometimes to get to my cabin and that air dam would get wrecked pretty quick being that low. The step bar and tailgate seem a little silly but I guess it's a limited so they'll put as many bells and whistles into it as they can. That interior looked fantastic.

After putting 300,000 miles on my 2004 Tundra Double Cab TRD, LTD 4.7L V8 w/ Leer fiberglass cap w/ side "Windoors". I had to let it go in May because of frame rot, even though it was involved with the Tundra campaign. It rotted from the inside-out. The frustrating part was that all of the accessories still functioned flawlessly & I only got $1,000 for the trade-in value. I now own the 2023 Tacoma SR, 2.7L 4 cylinder, 7514 build Utility Access Cab w/ 4×4 & 6' bed. I'm loving the tight turning radius, max 25.5 mpg & 1,900 rpm at 70 mph. It's such a departure from the Tundra LTD. At 73 years of age, I don't miss any of the "bells & whistles". I just needed dependable, reliable economic transportation & I think that I have it now. I just installed a BAK Revolver X4s hard, rollup tonneau cover to have secure storage & keep the snow, ice & sluch out of the bed here in rural, hilly Western Massachusetts.
