Plus the NFL has to think about the integrity of the game, imagine being a defender having to tackle him, I'm sure players don't want to have ro make that choice.

Its braaaaain daaaamage. There is no light concussion or minor. Tua is going night night. The button gets easier and easier to hit. Throwback but look at chuck liddell. He had a granite jaw and used it. When it caved finally he was just a ko highlight waiting. He shouldnt be ashamed, its brave.
@LootroqАй бұрын
And Alister Overeem. He and Andrei Arlovski at least changed their styles to compensate for their lack of chin. Tua did great last year protecting himself, but this was a serious error of judgement. I dont know what the hell he was thinking not sliding

Can the NFL disqualify a player permanently based on life-threatening issues such as concussions? Or is this something that the Players Union would have issues with?
@ronniesnakehissiii9413Ай бұрын
We're talking about millions of dollars in salary. Yeah the NFLPA's lawyers, player's lawyers, team's lawyers would all get involved & do "lawyer stuff"! In my head, I'm thinking that a move they'd make is requiring him to wear a Guardian cap for games & practice. (he should have already been wearing one this season. Everyone wooulda been laughing the first few weeks, then it would be normalized....IMO)
@ericcarson342Ай бұрын
This would be an interesting take. It would set a precedent for involuntarily forcing a player to hang up his cleats. Lots of legal stuff involved. His lawyer, NFL lawyers, team lawyers, his agent, his family, the players union. A lot of moving parts.

Its not up to the player. The league is king here. Its a business first. Head injuries lead to lawsuits. I bet you if this wasnt it he only has one more chance. Also if he continues that team will no longer be on national tv.

We keep hearing all the facts, "we don't know, we'll need to give it time, etc"... over and over again. come on !!! When will someone just call it? HE NEEDS TO STOP PLAYING FOOTBALL!! period. Yes he has lots of money great, but what will that matter for his wife, kids, family when he's 35 years old needing help remebering who's who or putting on a pair of socks. This is crazy !!

The NFL needs to be that referee in boxing for Tua and call the fight, put his arms around the fighter who thinks he can keep going and wave his arms. In this case they need to not allow him to ever play in the NFL.

How valuable is he to the Dolphins? Years ago,San Diego had a kicker/punter who would kick off and exit the field. I don't remember any complaints about it,maybe Miami should consider some similar game plan for him.
@TempusFugit366Ай бұрын
You see the fencing response. He's had multiple previous concussions. Football is an inherently dangerous game. Tua needs to just stop. The Dolphins probably won't force him to retire because then they'd have to pay him. The NFL probably won't force him to retire because they don't want to put even more people off playing, but someone who loves this man needs to go to him and say "we would rather have you at least mostly whole than have a bit (or a lot) more money and you unable to function".
