Had my liveaboard dive trip last month to north & central raja ampat with Pearl of Papua. Excellent service with affordable price ! the food is great & never disappointed me, and the crew is very helpful and friendly, especially Mr. Herry the cruise director/dive guide leader !

Radek Smid we had bad weather for the first 3 days, but the visibility still good, the clearest water i cant forget is yenbuba island, the visibily around 30-35 meter with the highlight schooling devil rays ! I saw some familiar face in your video, is that Allan the french guy ?

@@czele123 Well Excellent we are planning to go in late Jan or early Feb. any suggestions? For do's and dont's? other than the usuals. we will be first timers there. Money, Hotels resorts, Gear, clothes, food etc.
@czele1236 жыл бұрын
Joe C. We stayed at Favehotel, , very nice and well maintained. Great breakfast and dinner. We used few US dollars and credit card to buy few snacks, could not find any beer in Sorong. We spent full day after liveaboard exploring surrounding area , what was quite an eye opener. .Area was safe during daytime, not so sure at night.Tourists are almost attraction to locals. I brought all dive gear, and all necessities with me . For diving I used 3mm full wet suite but shorty would do as water was very warm.Boat was well equipped. Food on liveaboard was great , drunk only bottled water everywhere. This area is still a third world county so bear that mind. Book it and have fun!
@joec.7436 жыл бұрын
@@czele123 Thanks my friend. I will let you know how it goes. will try to book same Hotel. Im just not sure if I should rent gear or carry my own. it seems like such a long trip. Dive cpu and mask of course will be taken with me.
@czele1236 жыл бұрын
Joe C. Well, rental gear is always hit and miss, especially with limited selection on liveaboards. You will be doing 3-4 dives daily, i find that if my gear fits and works 100% , it just adds to comfort and experience.Please let me know how it went for you , good luck !

I have a few questions for you. We want to do RA but I fear the strong currents I read about. The best dive location in RA has strong up and down currents. Any truth to this? I have 100 dive under my belt. I dove Cozumel and Roatan, both location has moderate currents and drift diving but I never experienced strong rip of your mask rip currents or even worst down currents. I also only have an OW and not AOW or any nitrox. What do you think? Thanks for the great video!
@czele1235 жыл бұрын
I am glad you enjoyed the video. RA is very large area so as far as currents and conditions it likely varies a lot. I know Komodo is famous for extreme currents. Also time of the year brings different dive conditions. I was there Jan/Feb and dove South and Central Raja.We did about 20 dives and had strong currents about 3times. Nothing extreme to be concern about, no rip currents or down currents. Dive masters on liveaboards are experienced and safety oriented. My buddy and I had about 130 dives under our belts and we really enjoyed this trip. Diving RA offers diversity and the underwater world is like no other place . We are also only OWD no trouble dive RA up tp 100ft. Nitrox cert is good to have for sure, i cant remember if we dove nitrox. If you do multiple deeper dives you get to enjoy it longer. If you are comfortable diving (@100) dives, RA is unforgettable place to dive, liveaboard is highly recommended.. As you,can see from video, conditions are mostly good. but we did leave Missol area earlier as visibility not great and DM concluded we were better off in Central RA which was nice but not as nice as Missol. Hope my comments help you make right decision, RA is truly great treat for divers. If you need more info, let me know.Take care.

@@czele123 Thank you very much for your kind reply. I am torn between doing a liveaboard or Kri Eco resort. I would think if I spend all the cash to get to RA I might want to dive a little more then 18 dives. Maybe a longer liveaboard as well could do the trick. I am from Edmonton so seeing your trip from fort mac all the way there was awesome. Thanks
@czele1235 жыл бұрын
You are welcome. Kri Eco resort is more in northern RA I think. Some divers rank central or south RA as nicer. I personally love liveaboards for the convenience and variety of sites that can’t be matched by land base diving.. Have you done liveaboard? Edmonton, small world ehh! On the way back we stopped in Tokyo for 4 days since it is a stop over to Vancouver, I have video on my channel as well, check it out!
