That's a nice little dozer. If I won the lottery the wife would probably wanna go on vacation with me, but I'd rather buy a D3 to play with on the family farm, lol. Thanks for sharing.

Man I wish this dozer had a shake option on it. That’s so nice. You can’t shake the handle hard enough to make that happen on this D4H.

I have turned down bush hogging jobs in the past because the ground was so uneven, and stumps and debris everywhere, i would have spent most of the time avoiding obstacles and scalping areas, and gouging out other areas, so i understand the guy not wanting to use his tractor in there.
@smithworx1091
@smithworx1091 Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't have wanted to do it with a tractor myself. There were several hidden stumps that would wreck a bush hog

Thanks brother. It's a very nice dozer. When I ordered this one it was 211k. The root rake didn't come in when the dozer did and they shaved some more off the price because I told them I didn't want it and they came down to right at 199k. I gave 3000 for this root rake from a different manufacturer.

Interesting. I wouldn’t have even bothered to try grading that area without mulching up the vegetation with a good mower. I’ve fought that stuff before and it always balls up and gets in the way. I guess an operator should be smart enough to just push it out of the way. Are the ruts too deep for a power rake? That hard clay sucks work with sometimes
@smithworx1091
@smithworx1091 Жыл бұрын
They were deeper that what really shows on camera. I had no idea what all was in there so that's why I didn't want to bush hog it first.
@PurpleNovember
@PurpleNovember Жыл бұрын
@@smithworx1091yeah I don’t like having a rotary cutter out front like that. I would usually use an 8,000lb tractor with root rake and good flail mower for stuff like that. Even a heavy duty mulcher makes me a little nervous going in blind. Do you think you could have done that job that quick without the rake on the blade? That rake makes it look so easy.
@smithworx1091
@smithworx1091 Жыл бұрын
@timl.9990 you already know I don't like bush hogging lol. I think the rake made this job so much easier and doable for what I have. With breaking the ground up and then the wide tracks kinda laying everything back flat, I think it did better than a tractor and disc would have.
@PurpleNovember
@PurpleNovember Жыл бұрын
@@smithworx1091 Definitely worked better than what I have. Last time I tried something like that there wasn’t a rake on the dozer and it was my second time on a dozer. It would have been a lot easier and faster if I mulched first but I thought I could save time and money, instead it bit me in the ass. The tractor I have now is only about 8,000lbs so I have to mulch before grading. I still can’t believe how good that root rake works on that dozer. That would have been a two day job for me, possibly three.
@smithworx1091
@smithworx1091 Жыл бұрын
@timl.9990 I really like the rake. I think if I worked in sandy soil, I probably wouldn't need it. But it seems to work very well in all this sticky clay

Where did that music come from ? Where is the Merle Haggard ? ha ha ! Window down is nothing bro . My wife's Godmother bought a new 3000.00 SS refrigerator and as she wash washing it and a scrubbing pad was in the rag and she scratched both doors completely up. She's an older lady so just remember crap happens.
