I've got a little factory set up at the very first plot you start at and I didn't use any concrete floors or anything. Just a rake to flatten the ground and make some nice and square dugout areas about 2-3 blocks deep to hold my logic compressors and crucibles.

I’m about to move from ember cradle and this is definitely super helpful!

I need to start using the rake. I'm only getting my first Tier 1 automation going, so I dug out all of Ember Cradle and put my drills down there. Unfortunately, I realized that the bottom of it isn't flat, so I can't put drills on every spot. I'm gonna try to make a small layer of dirt across the whole floor and even it out with the rake.
@Hybridsteel Жыл бұрын
u cna put a floor down there that the drills will sit on i managed to get 30 drills down there so ur be ok. just bring the sorting area to the the top.
@ODST_Parker Жыл бұрын
@@Hybridsteel Oh, I've already got a conveyor belt bringing things up top to my sorting system, bottom is just for my one harvester and drills. I'm not going nuts with it. Probably just five drills and a lot of building up money and resources, before I move my main base to a different plot.

I like how the T1 and T2 drills actually still touch the dirt with their thumper/teeth but here comes the Corestone drill that doesn't even touch the dirt with it's drill bit .. not even close xD

Still an issiue in the game. But this helped me. Have been fapping around in the new map for 4h trying to figure out why the !"#¤% my drill all of a sudden would not work. checked and re checked all the pipes, all the logics, the filters and so on. Turns out it had to much snow above the drill bit. So thank you! Would had been nice if this was stated in game. Would had saved me a great deal of time and frustration.

For Tier 1 and 2 I found using rake doesn't always work... Well it doesn't if I want lowest level dirt... So I do the following. Get Tier one pick axe, dig down till it Fails/sparks, take shovel and dig up a small patch of dirt, then use Rake to make a solid "block", put drill on Block. This also means the drill is raised up one layer so it can use a flat conveyor and directly into Sifter. I make a long column to place miners on... For Tier 2 I created two long columns for the Miners and then a conveyor through the middle, so they would feed along into a sifter, then it outputs into smelters and gem compressors. Also I bought just a tier 3 rake, as it doesn't matter about the rake, but with the Pickaxes I use the one I want to get as low as possible.

I realise that might be hard to visulise, let's see if I can show it: M = Miner, C = Conveyor Tier 1 M _[ ]_ Tier 2 MCM _[ ]_[ ]_ Not sure if that helps, I haven't gotten to Tier 3 yet, I was settign up Tier 2 as same as T1 when I realised the pipes go into T2 differently... Was annoying, had to redesign whole set up.

iv done this trick on all levels and all leves are where the dirt is about to change. at t1 i di the same with a lump of dirt under it as well but the rake works as it raises that tiny bit to connect with hit boxes..

Wait you can use t2 pipes on t3 machines?
@Hybridsteel Жыл бұрын
yes because they are just water pipes you just wont get the full pressure into the drill. u can run any drill on any pipe but pressure is the more important part.

It´s called aha effect and it´s a moment your brain loves and gets flooded with endorfin. I´ve had my biggest when you´ve explained how to make the repair loop for filters. That moment I was able to start using logic for lights and other things. Still it´s too complicated for the logic weight and timing things. Btw Does your saw works properly? mine doesn´t it won´give me 16 weight bars for some reasons or 6 beetroot. It has problems with the number 6.
@slate613 Жыл бұрын
My saw was giving me double the weight I asked for for a bit. I think it fixed itself, but not sure.
@BJKage Жыл бұрын
@@slate613 Actually u are right, but again the double was only when I wanted 3 or 6. When I needed bar of 16 it was like no, 8 is good enough for you and I could not figher(how is this word spelled correctly?) out why is the order always wrong.

@@BJKage The game has a mind of it's own I guess! lol And it's figure.
@BJKage Жыл бұрын
@@slate613 Thanks. That´s right right now the storage crates are behaving like that too. You place them on the floor, cart, or truck and the only way how to pick them up is to let the disappear with the magic wand . Thanks .English is the easiest language I have learned, but some words are way too similar.

This still doesn't work. Im on Tier one ground, I even laid out some floor tiles, but the drill(Tier1) hits Tier two dirt. But I can mine the dirt, the drill cant't mine mith a Tier1 pickaxe.
@Hybridsteel Жыл бұрын
put dirt closer to the bottom of the drill try the other thing i showed in this by putting a blob of dirt below the drill
